Aberdeen to Gdansk and Warsaw Wizz Air. They might have already been flying to Warsaw.

Inverness to Heathrow BA

More flights from Inverness to Amsterdam with KLM, Flybe are already doing it.

Thinking of doing a shortish trip to Poland in September. Aberdeen - Warsaw 2 nights, train to Gdansk 2 nights and back to Aberdeen. About £85 for the flights and £25 a night for hotels.

Can see plenty of new routes from Glasgow and Edinburgh throughout the year. Prestwick will continue to struggle with Ryanair the only half arsed operator and Aberdeen likewise with the downturn in the Oil Industry.

Inverness seems to be doing alright as well.

Inverness is doing ok but so far Amsterdam is the only place outside the UK you can fly to apart from expensive package trips with a load of incontinent geriatrics to Italy or Switzerland. There's a cheap early flight to Gatwick though which means you can connect with most budget flights from there, and spend a bit of time in Brighton if there's a long time between flights. Aberdeen is still getting more routes.

P.S. Forgot about Dublin and Jersey.

I meant proportionately for an area of its size, Inverness probably punches and I think it does well to have as many major routes as it does for a small population area. I'd be surprised if the Ryanairs, Jet 2 type operators who rely a lot on sun routes will ever go with much of an offering there, but its doing alright. It'll rely a lot on inbound tourism to counteract its small population.

Aberdeen's traffic was down 14% in 2015 from 2014. Pretty worrying times I think. They'll always be bigger than Inverness, but its not exactly positive reading.

Prestwick will be done with commercial ops within 5 years.

When is that due to start.

Nobody has said, there was Ramsays Travel Agents in the paper the other week claiming they're inundated with requests and they are 'able' to offer a 2/3 night break, flights and hotel inclusive, for around £200.

Not a clue how they'd manage that - or how they'd know they could. Dundee is expensive as fùck to fly out of.

Government Subsidy that's made it possible
