Leith title to lose?

On paper it looks like the title race is between Leith, LTHV and Civil Service... at the moment LTHV are 15pts behind with 5 games in hand, whilst Civil Service are 18pts behind with 4 games in hand (but have not played either of their games against either of them). Leith also still have to visit LTHV. I'd imagine the easiest way to look at the table just now is points per game, that smooths-out the games in hand:

Leith 2.77 ppg

Lothian THV 2.62

Civil Service 2.00

Spartans EOS 1.93

Tynecastle 1.80

Heriot-Watt 1.50

Hawick 1.44

Peebles 1.43

Coldstream 1.33

Ormiston 1.33

Stirling EOS 1.25

Craigroyston 1.08

Duns 0.70

Burntisland 0.58

Eyemouth 0

It was Leith's title in the end, and by the on paper reasonably comfortable margin of 9pts, although for a short while LTHV were closing in on them and a different result on the last day would have slashed it to 3pts.

Congratulations have to go to Leith on a highly successful season... league champions, Alex Jack Cup winners, King Cup winners - indeed only a narrow loss to Spartans EOS in the League Cup final prevented a domestic clean-sweep. Topped their EOS Qualifying League section with maximum points, too.

In the EOS Qualifying Cup and South Challenge Cup they lost narrowly to LL opposition, 4-3 at Gala and 2-1 at Cumbernauld respectively.

Adventure lies ahead in the Scottish Cup next season.
