Scary Bear
The 8.30 to Edinburgh Waverley pulls out of Inverkeithing... The trains back to Fife tonight could be interesting.
Scary Bear
In one of m previous jobs a lot of my colleagues commuted over from Fife. They generally either came in very early, to get to the office by 7-7:30 or later to arrive by 10 and work later. Driving over the bridge in rush hour is a nightmare. I usually leave the house about 8.30-9.00 to get in for 9.30-10.00. Now it's the 9.25 train getting into office for 10.30. Today I opted to 'work from home.'
Scary Bear
What part of the bridge is causing concern? Evidently bolts have sheered off. The engineers were on site yesterday and apparently they looked worried.
Shandon Par
Fife should seize the opportunity to claim independence and close the borders. Glory to Eternal Emperor Leishman.

Well I wouldn't like to be the engineers out there — 60-70mph winds all weekend!
Hedgecutter
Transport minister has just announced that the bridge will be closed until at least New Year. Ouch!

Dee Man
All you fifers are fucked. Anyone with a spare car ferry lying about could make a killing here.
Sherrif John Bunnell
Tarmac over the rail bridge. Problem solved.
Shandon Par
We've a few sailors on here - we could chip in and launch a P&B hovercraft service, make a killing and retire to our solid gold castles. The BHT 130 looks a belter and carries 130 people. http://www.griffonhoverwork.com/products-services/used-hovercraft.aspx

MEADOWXI
Transport minister has just announced that the bridge will be closed until at least New Year. Ouch! If you heading from the Highlands or Grampians and have tickets for the Edinburgh Hogmanay Party time to set off for the party about three days ago.

Njord
Can they not just use the other 3? And it is the first time on here that The_Kincardine will be deemed popular.

Shandon Par
I live just around the corner from my work in Edinburgh. Tremendous excuse not to have to visit the relatives in Fife at Christmas.
1320Lichtie
Ouch !! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-35001277 Oh ya fucker. Genuinely feeling sorry for Edinburgh commuting Fifers here.... Will affect Edinburgh quite a bit as well over the holidays, everybody will just fire through to Glasgow instead now.
