Actually our country was not consulted on joining the union and had no way whatsoever of leaving it and determining it's own foreign policy for the next 300 years.  Apart from that spot on.

Our leaders signed up for it on condition of access to the colonial markets. The Empire was part of the deal.

Imagine being a fluffer for the wee Peppino bhoy.  How tragic does that make you?

Not as tragic as someone using the term "bhoy" because the poster in question isn't.   Team: Rangers.

Indeed.  Acknowledging this makes you almost an adult.

Acknowledging your team is Rangers, and that you categorise all non-conformists as "bhoys" makes me "almost an adult".      You're posting like Benjamin Button as we remember the halcyon days where you posted like an adult.

Tbf he's considerably higher up the rung than a near pension age *** getting pished and desperately fishing for bites on the Politics sub forum of a well-known football website.

Honestly, get a fucking hold of yourself.

Extraordinary.  The fantasists on this forum are those who think Indyref2 is a possibility and that, somehow, Rangers' fans are complicit in stopping it.

The true truth (to quote Francis Schaeffer) is that Indyref2 is utter bollocks and anyone with half a brain realises this.  Those who don't are moon-howling idiots.  I reckon you're in the latter category.

It's already been voted through parliament and will be happening whenever the FM decides.   You cannot ignore the sovereign wishes of the people!

Actually there was an anti-union faction which would have won a fair vote in the Scottish parliament, however the vote was held in such a way as to ensure a vote for the union, with those in favour being rewarded with money and land.

You mean the 150 people who were bribed to vote for union?  So not remotely 'scotland'in any sense at all then.

That was the way our country was ruled at the time. Bit late to ask for a recount because universal suffrage and fair voting weren't a thing in our country back then.

Indeed.  But also entirely inaccurate to refer to the paid for votes of an extremely small number of people as 'scotland'.

And even if it wasn't, you'll still have to show how 'scotland' has ever made a single decision to colonise anywhere ever in its entire history.  Best of luck with that.

Except Darien tbf.

I was polite enough not to mention that. But however unrepresentative or corrupt our leaders were, that was Scotland at that time. And they made a condition of joining the Union to have full permission to exploit the Colonies. Which they did big style. The school you went to was probably built from the sweat and death of slaves.

I know you're a pompous boor but do you really have to say this tripe?  Again?

You haven't one original thought in your smug head.

So a fixed vote engineered by pro-english minority conspirators meant that we were equal partners in the empire? Bollocks. Had the vote not been called the way it had it would have easily been defeated.
