How can they be so incandescent that the choice would be put to us again after such a sesmic event as Brexit? c***s to a man This is what puzzles me. I realise that some are just reviving the 'Scotland on pause' argument out of political expediency while knowing fine well there are just grounds for a referendum, but how can some people genuinely not accept there is a valid and democratic mandate here? You can be absolutely 100% certain that you want to stay in the Union and still see that holding another referendum is perfectly reasonable due to the EU referendum.

glasgow-sheep
Be surprised with that, should do it once brexit is sorted out They've said that's definitely not happening. They want it delayed until several years after brexit has bedded in

Surely labour have to come out and say that although they disagree with the vote that democracy and the legitimacy of holyrood must be recognised and upheld. They won't though.

mizfit
This question may be daft, but can the U.K. Government or our monarchy dissolve Holyrood and demand a reelection if there is a massive disagreement?

Other than when the usual election comes round, Holyrood can be dissolved either by a 2/3rds majority, or the First Minister resigning and the Parliament failing to nominate a successor within 28 days. The former is unlikely, but the latter is obviously in Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP's gift - she resigns, then the SNP vote against any and all nominations for a new FM.
