Part of me thinks England will eventually descend into a "Children of Men" like State, at which point they'll ether eject us as being too costly and difficult to police, or we'll be able to UDI to get away from the batshittery and the UN and EU will recognise it and act as guarantors. Just a question of what sort of global/environmental catastrophe precipitates it, and what state we'd be dragged down to beforehand.

A more coherent plan than anything laid out by Sturgeon or her glove puppet successor.

Said it before. England would definitely vote for independence given a chance. True Patriots 😉. Brexit shows this. Rightly so because their country is subsidising the rest of the UK. Scottish Unionists don't realise this.

The fact that you appear to take pleasure in that is wild.

God save the queen n that.

Honestly though, the SNP have squandered our chance, they have absolutely fucked it and really i think there are some of the MP’s sitting in Westminster actually happy about that.

For years, people have been asking what the SNP haven't been doing that would have led to independence by now, and there's still no answer.

It's definitely their fault though, the b*****ds.

Nice earner, good pension, lots of nice expenses paid for and no possibility of actually running the country.

Aye, I think the whole Indy movement needs a serious reboot - Alba isnt the answer, but the SNP (of which I used to be a member) seems like its just treading water now.

Nearly 10 years since the vote. It will be the same old arguments.

Someone needs to say.

We will have a Scottish bank

We will use the Scottish pound

Companies operating in Scottish land/water will pay tax to Scotland

We will be a normal country.

Worse, they'll do more North Britain specials where Dirty Den and Phil Mitchell travel to Sco'lund for a dodgy deal and find nothing but dark post-apocalyptic moorland and mutated ghouls with Weegie accents who supposedly come from Edinburgh.

George Osbourne made an interesting point last week. His view is that if Tony Blair had taken the UK into the Euro, the Brexit referendum would never have been won by the leave campaign because the remain campaign could have made the exact same currency argument that they made in the Scotland referendum the previous year.

That is to say, it’s hard to persuade people to vote for a proposition that would lead to them having their wages paid in a different currency to their mortgage when the obvious next step is the wages currency being devalued.
