Apparently the SNP will then fight that election on the issue of independence, then try and call indyref2, knowing it will probably be rejected and then using the next Holyrood election as a de facto independence referendum. A lot depends on Tory infighting and how bad that gets - will it get that bad to bring down the government? If there was a General Election Corbyn would be up against Boris or Mogg. He ain't exactly doing great in the polls against May and her dysfunctional government. If Corbyn and Labour end up the largest party they will almost certainly require the help of the SNP to get the keys to No.10 - no way will he get a majority. I would imagine powers to hold a legally binding referendum will be top of the list for Nicola Sturgeon for propping up Corbyn. Unfortunately time is not on the side for Nicola. She needs to make a decision on indyref2 soon. Does she gamble on another pro-indy majority at Holyrood or does she implement indyref2 on the mandate her government currently has in this parliament term? We know Westminster won't make it easy if she does go ahead with indyref2.
