Bundesliga 2023/24

Recommended Posts

An underwhelming performance in a fairly shite game saw H96 exit the DFB Pokal last night against VfL Wolfsburg.

A goal by Felix Uduokhai 5 minutes after the restart was enough to win the game. H96 picked up with Füllkrug & Karaman coming on with 25 minutes to go, but a result like last Saturday never looked likely. Another poor performance from (club record-signing) Jonathas who is starting to look a bit of a duck-egg.

A shockingly low crowd of just 15508 for a game between 2 local BL teams

Munich needed some help from the referee before eventually getting past RB Leipzig on penalties.

Next up for H96, a home game on Saturday against Dortmund.  A non-pumping will be considered a success.

Night & day between the performances yesterday and last Wednesday in Wolfsburg.

First goal (penalty) was down the other end of the ground from me so not able to see too well. Numerous friends have commented it wasn’t one, although a similar number have also said it was.
Dortmund’s 1st was caused by Bakalorz not letting the ball run out for a bye kick.
Superb pass from Jonathas over to Bebou who slotted home the 2nd. Reminiscent of the Miller/D. Fletcher goal against the Czech Rep. in 2011.
Lack of communication between Tschauner & Sané led to the 2nd equaliser.
As regards the sending off, looked fairly stonewall from where I was, also a distinct lack of protest to Zagadou getting the red card.
The resulting Felix Kraus free-kick was pinged into the top left corner Leigh Griffiths against England style.
Thought Bebou was going to mess up his 2nd, but took it well and meant avoiding a nervous last couple of minutes.
Next up a trip to Leipzig next Saturday.
All in all a good day, with the Jags winning as well. Only downside, seeing a half & half Rangers-H96 scarf! ????(Both teams played a friendly back in 2007).

Despite a good performance, which deserved a point, H96 went down 2-1 to RB Leipzig. Although 0-0 at half-time, both sides had had numerous chances. 10 minutes into the 2nd half Jonathas slotted home to put H96 1 up. Poulson got the equaliser in the 70th minute. Thereafter H96 seemed to lose a bit of concentration/discipline which allowed Timo Werner to grab the winner with 5 minutes to go.
Result leaves H96 in 5th/6th depending on today‘s Köln-Hoffenheim score.

After the international break it‘s away to Bremen. Won‘t be in attendance. 6pm games on a Sunday can get in the sea.

As regards the RB Arena. Easy to reach, 10-15 minutes on the tram from the main station. On the way back used the shuttle bus provided for the away fans. Accessibility could be better with umpteen flights of stairs up & down to negotiate.
Only Clausthaler alc. free, which Sir William of Connolly, available in the away end!

Dates fixed for Match days 15 through to 22 (10th February) announced earlier.
H96 must have pissed someone off, getting 5 Sunday slots, 3 of which in a row all at 6pm!:thumbsdown

Excellent! Booking flights for my January trip.

Thinking about  a weekend in March - probably the 16/17/18th - based in Dusseldorf.

Does anyone have any idea if Koln-Leverkusen is likely to go to any kind of general sale? Think that would be our preferred game as a derby, but if not, Dortmund, Moenchengladbach and Dusseldorf are all at home that weekend as well and I reckon we'll get tickets no bother for them.

Doubt there would be a general sale for Köln-Leverkusen. Köln have 25,500 season ticket holders plus a massive amount (ca. 100,000) members.

The Dortmund game that weekend is against H96. Depending on how many people you are, can get you tix for the away section.

Yeah looking into it, seems that only chance may be in the Leverkusen end.
There's 4 of us.

Just ordered 2 tickets for Eitracht Frankfurt v Schalke on Dec 16th.

Fits in nicely with my Mannheim home game on Friday night and my Sonderzug away trip to Dusseldorf on the Sunday.

Wee bit awkward ordering tickets but they do have an English guide that gives you some helpful, if basic, instructions. Print at home is a doddle and the free tram travel to/from the ground is a nice bonus.

Yep, that'll be the end.

Stuck it on B365 video when I saw it was 4-2, and Dortmund had completely given up trying to attack. Retreated into a shell on the edge of their box, which with the players they've got (as shown by scoring 4 goals in 25 mins in the first half) was just pathetic.

That Dortmund game

Fuckin great night for the Borussia as well!! Back to beating Bayern again :thumsup2  No surprise Drmić missed a sitter to make it 3-1 at the end, he is a fucking awful player.

Bayern have had a result like that coming. The performances under Heynkes haven't always matched the results and the injuries aren't helping. The game against Anderlecht is probably the worst I've ever seen them defensively. Gifted them about 4 one-on-ones in the first half alone. Keeps the league interesting Schalke and Leipzig both getting results.

A near 800 mile round trip to Munich yesterday, to see H96 go down 3-1 to Bayern. Backs to the wall stuff early on with Vidal getting the opener on the 17th minute. Lewandowski had the the ball in the back of the net 8 minutes later, H96 all set to restart when the Video Assistant adjudged that the goal was offside. From the resulting free-kick, H96 went straight up the park and secured a penalty, which Niklas Füllkrug duly slotted home. Due to encroachment it had to be retaken, which Ulreich parried out and Füllkrug managed to stick the rebound past the post. 1-1 at half-time. 2nd half, Coman made it 2-1 in the 67th minute with a penalty converted by Lewandowski 3 minutes from time securing all 3 points for the home team.
Not the best of results, but at least not a massive pumping.
As an arena for viewing, the Allianz is one of the best stadiums I‘ve been to. Shite atmosphere though, and the away end is always ca. 50% occupied with glory-hunters in red & white.
All in all a good Saturday for Bayern with Leipzig getting humped by Hoffenheim plus both Dortmund & Schalke drawing their games.
Next up Hoffenheim at home on Sunday.
