A mini P&B day out in a sunny Hannover with both @Tibbermoresaint and @Aloysius Snuffleupagus in attendance to see H96 huff & puff / shitfest their way to a 1-0 win against 1860 Munich.

A Martin Harnik goal in the 55th minute was enough to give H96 the 3 points and keep them right behind Stuttgart & Union Berlin in the task of getting back to the top league.

Cracking day out even if the game wasn't brilliant. Thanks again for looking after us, Steve, and it was nice to meet @Tibbermoresaint and John too

Was at Freiburg 1 v Hoffenheim 1 at the weekend. Full house at Schwartzwald for the Baden derby. Hoffenheim looked a lot slicker on the ball and had the better of play. All credit to Freiburg for hanging in though. Not the best team to watch, but probably safe for this season. I borrowed someone's season ticket for this one and was in the main stand. Strange situation, as the ticket was for the main concourse at the back of the stand, basically getting in everyone's road. Couldn't see this happening in the UK for health and safety reasons.

Fixture dates ideal for me, is Dortmund a good night out? Don't really know anything about the city other than the team.

It's not great for pubs/bars but has a brilliant big nighclub called "Rush Hour". Wouldn't stay there for more than a night when you've got Dusseldorf and Koln relatively close by.

Both games this afternoon have been dire so far. Bayern the better side so far in Monchengladbach but they really need to lift the tempo. Muller has been off the boil a bit recently, has he been injured or something?

Despite getting a 0-0 in Hamburg against St. Pauli, H96's poor recent form resulted in trainer Daniel Stendel being relieved of his duties. His successor also now announced as André Breitenreiter.
Bit of a kick in the teeth for Stendel, who played almost 200 times for the club and after retiring as a player coached numerous youth teams as well as the 2nd team, before the 1st team.
Not sure whether the policy of chopping & changing managers on such a regular basis is good at all. At the end of the day H96 are still only 3 points off 1st (4 if Union Berlin win this evening), with Stuttgart, Berlin and Braunschweig all still to play in Hannover.
As regards the game, nothing special from a H96 point of view till the last 10-15 minutes when they started to make some effort.

Also not too impressed by the atmosphere in the Millerntor Stadion. Despite being sold out, the home ends were fairly quiet. Not a patch on the old stadium which is where I watched my 1st ever game in Dec. 1990 (St. P against Dortmund) after moving to Germany. cde906a3ea9b816768d4b8d8ffd10c9f.jpgddadaafd83dbce2c3591b4fc83378b82.jpgcd288cd5afb80715cedf006ecad3b66a.jpge52c7901a22d27746d59931c46809f83.jpg

Next up, after the international break, Union Berlin in Hannover.

Ref has gone for a comfort break in the Union vs Nuremburg game [emoji23]
Game has been pretty poor.
For top of the league, Berlin haven't impressed whatsoever.

Cue Union stepping it up a gear and after hitting the post their sub Hosiner puts them ahead for what could be their first ever league win over Der Club.

Borussia were fuckin horrific today, HSV fully deserved their win. Would be happy to never see Drmic in a Borussia shirt again, fuckin horrible player and even more an insult to think we let Branimir Hrgota who was a much better player go to Eintracht for pretty much f**k all... Borussia need to get the fingers back out their arses if we want to progress in the Europa League against Schalke 04.

Drmic is the Swiss version of Kris Boyd. Terrible football player but an excellent finisher. Looks to have lost what little pace he had since doing his knee last year. I can see him doing a job in the Bundesliga 2 or maybe moving back to Switzerland and scoring a few, but he looks lost at the top level now.

Think he's just having a poor season, as he's only missed one game through injury. He's only got 6 goals in all comps so far compared with 32 last season. Bayern look a much better side when Thiago plays at number 10 IMO.

Bayern have not been convincing at all this season. At one point it didn't look good for the manager at all

In the first half of the season they weren't sweeping away teams like you'd expect, but they've definitely upped it since Xmas and are now further ahead of 2nd place than they were last season and their points per game is only 0.10 less too.
