bluebell1
So if we scrap the retention rule. Senior season finishes mid May and for successful junior sides season could go on to 2nd week in June. Possible then that when senior players contracts expire mid may they could all then sign for junior teams for last few weeks of season which could make a mockery of our game. The only way we could scrap retention rule is if we also ban junior clubs from signing ANY players after say 31st March also. Only my thoughts but agree retention should be scrapped but only if the signing ban is implemented also
victor meldrew
I thought clubs couldn't sign any player after March already no??
bluebell1
You can sign amateurs or non attached players after March wull 👠
victor meldrew
Cool, wasn't 100% sure. Would certainly need some kind of ruling to stop that happening then. 👠
Burnie_man
I think it would be reasonable to bring in a rule that no player can be registered at all after 31st March, unless it's considered an emergency eg no fit goalkeeper, maybe even extend it to 30th April. Either way, retention has to go.

Jez
Easthouses 0 Lochgelly Albert 4 We were very depleted with injuries and late call offs, naming our usual sub keeper as our 1st available outfield sub and the keeper coach as sub keeper. But it was an outstanding performance from us. 3-0 up at half time through a Stevie Brown penalty and two well taken goals from John Ferguson. Second half we continued to dominate and can't recall our keeper really having much to do at all. Craig Bateson scored a cracker in the final 6 minutes from an assist from our outfield keeper. Then due to another injury, Craig Ness made a cameo 5 minute appearance. Really pleased with our performance and hard work today. Page, Colquhoun, Murray were outstanding, but the whole team played really well to be honest.
