Rovers_Lad
A team from your pie stalls should be enough to see off the Shippy Edited November 8, 2017 by Rovers_Lad
HibeeJibee
They've taken a number of thumpings down the years, but Raith only beat them 2-1 in 2014 and they actually beat Cowdenbeath 2-0 in 2012.

I was at the game and from memory it was our U20's that played that night.

steakngravy
Was it not sometime in the 1980's that Shipyard beat a strong Dunfermline side 5-4 in the Fife CUP?
HibeeJibee
Rather like amateurs in the Renfrewshire Cup, since they joined for 1931-32 there's actually been very few wins or draws for Shippy:1933-34 ... R1 ... Burntisland 2-1 Lochgelly 1989-90 ... R1 ... Dunfermline 2-2 Burntisland (3-5p) 1991-92 ... R1 ... walkover v Cowdenbeath? 1998-99 ... R1 ... Burntisland 3-0 Cowdenbeath 2012-13 ... R1 ... Burntisland 2-0 Cowdenbeath

Burntisland 2-0 Cowdenbeath Shippy won 3-2 in April 1992 it was on a Sunday the day after we played QOS in the league. The final was due to be played the following Sunday the day after we won promotion at Alloa the reserve players didn't try too hard against Shippy going 3 down before pulling 2 back late on, probably feared winning in case they got picked to play the following week in the final after a promotion piss up. I was a the game at Dunfermline when they won Pars had quite a few guys who had played in the 1st team if I remember.

It was a bit silly planning the final for the day after the 1st team got promoted for the 1st time in 22 years no one would have been in any state

Burntisland 2-0 Cowdenbeath I'm sure I've seen the Shipyard beat Dunfermline 1-0 at East End in the Fife Cup - one of my PE teachers scored the winner I'm sure. It was around the same time we beat them 10-1 at East End. In fact I may be imagining this but didn't they used to have all the games at East End?
HibeeJibee
There were spells when (after getting R1 tie out the way) they played it as a mini-tournament the weekend before the season began, rotating around the grounds. Can't see such a tie, though.
Salvo Montalbano
Could have been a friendly I suppose but I was sure it was a Fife Cup tie.
HibeeJibee
You got a ballpark year? Play suspended and teams taken off following a serious injury to Splaine as an ambulance is awaited, says twitter. Dunfermline 2-0 up so they'll be keen it's finished tonight. It's gone tits up, they're waiting on an ambulance for a Dunfermline laddie.
