Don't expect we'll hold out much hope for strong teams for this? Two Managerless sides with thrown together sides of school kids IMO.

Unless one or both sides get a new manager In before the game and they can ramble together the out of contract players for an effective trial match.

Great stuff, we only beat the Shippy back in August, who do we meet?

If I was then I would have held Raith v Dunfermline over to July... Could have got a decent crowd as a pre-season match with both clubs once again in different divisions next season. They hold-over the Renfrewshire and Stirlingshire cup finals as routine nowadays.

Last season's Fife Cup details here: http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/181423-fife-cup-2012-13/page-4

Technically-speaking you do not have to be an SFA member to join a local FA... Banks o'Dee were members of the Aberdeenshire FA for many years, only becoming SFA members in autumn 2013, and Aberdeen University are currently members despite playing in the North Juniors. It is possible.

Plus both the Renfrewshire Cup and the North of Scotland include invited clubs.

However, given their regular struggles to get the competition played at the moment you'd think that adding Junior clubs would only make that task harder. Also in the case of Kelty they've got no lights (although presumably will when 3G goes down) and Juniors aren't allowed to play before the end of July, which would make it harder to fulfil any Fife Cup ties in pre-season.

This should be done over a pre-season weekend. Might generate a little bit of interest.

It worked when it was played over a weekend in pre-season. Why did they stop doing that?

Last one of these I was at was at EEP in the '80s.

Last one was actually at Starks in 1993. Basically the Rovers and Dunfermline didn't want it played as they wanted to play English sides etc in pre season friendlies. The season before the Pars sent their reserve side to old Bayview  for the Fife Cup weekend and the 1st team played some English side at East End.

According to this:

http://scottishleague.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5002

* 2014-15 declared incomplete - Dunfermline v Raith final unplayed

* 2015-16 awarded to East Fife - their 1-0 win v Cowdenbeath in Semi-Final = only tie played. Similar mechanism used in 2013-14 (Cowdenbeath 2-1 win v East Fife in Preliminary = only tie played).

* 2016-17 - to be drawn, cup will continue
