Done - hopefully. Timed our after I completed it.

The only issue I'd take up with you is that the reasons for going to the football are a bit new age and cliched -maybe a reflection of your youthfulness! Orders from the wife should be fairly prominent in any survey relating to non-attendance at football games.

A far better survey than the standard, back of a fag-packet efforts chucked on here by desperate undergraduates seeking a pass; very good work on that front. The only notable issue I'd take with the content of the survey is determining whether 'time' (or length) of journey is a factor in attending matches. The implication of the survey suggests that both are negative factors, but in reality it cuts both ways: some fans consider a great distance or time travelling to a match to be off-putting, others would consider a proper away day to be a more valuable experience than a hum-drum effort down the road.

Is that not why he asked the question ? To determine whether or not distance or time was a factor in deciding whether or not to go ?

To pick fault in the content in such a condescending manner seems to suggest a strong feeling of envy .

Shandon Par on the other hand made a lighthearted observation.

Also no option for 'working'. TBF the options could have been much more student themed,

Reasons for not going to football,

1 - hungover

2 - pulled friday night, forgot about the match as getting legover Saturday morning

3 - fighting outside the kebab shop at 3am

4 - taking washing home to parents house

Thanks for completing guys! it is very much appreciated!

with regards to the length of the journey being a positive factor, I did look into it but really just faced practical issues. It was difficult to get blanket questions for all of the teams when it came to time and distance simply because the difference in travels of an Inverness, Ross County or Elgin compared to say a Stirling Albion or Alloa fan.

The survey software also wouldn't let me account for both current location and team supported so I ended up doing what theoriginalhedge has said and simply finding out if it was a barrier and group people who don't think it's a barrier with people who prefer to travel further.

Regarding the results I won't actually be able to put my dissertation online, but I could potentially put the results of the survey online, I will have to check with staff at the university.
