Pelebhoy
Ridiculous how the west region allow this ive never heard so much crap in all of my football days its actually laughable.
wishawloyal
I really hope that common sense prevails and this fixture is re scheduled for next Saturday although this will still allow Ashfield time to acquire new players and leaves us without a game. A. Young
Totally agree pelebhoy and the west secretary buries his head in the sand all the time end of the day WISHAW lose out on game . Cost wishaw to roll and line park . Cost wishaw to stock snack bar ( perishable food wasted) . Wishaw lose out on hiring out park which was asked for earlier in week if Ashfield had come clean earlier in week we could still have hired it out . Ashfield all they lose is their credibility as a club and have brought the administration level of junior football down further than it already was by using feeble excuses to cancel game and refusing the loan of strips . As said before a precedent has been set by the west region by not acting on this . Therefore in future teams can get games cancelled by not having access to strips and turning down the offer of being loaned a set .
connolly81
Am I wrong in saying this brings the game into disrepute?
red robin
If a player goes before the beaks with a frivolous appeal for breaching laws of game his punishment is increased . This in my opinion is a blatant feeble and frivolous excuse to hide the fact they have 4 players suspended and probably cannot field a team and there will probably be no punishment to Ashfield
A. Young
Don't know about that Jon but they have made a farce of junior football and the west region have to for allowing them to cancel match

connolly81
Don't know about that Jon but they have made a farce of junior football and the west region have to for allowing them to cancel match very poor IMO its fact they don't train or get changed at the ground so the having no boots one is a horrendous excuse. A. Young
Exactly that was the excuse given about the boots when the first excuse was could not get strips and we offered them a set . Our park is playable and we have arranged a friendly with forth today hope the league deal with Ashfield for causing game to be cancelled
whitburn exile
JC in my view Ashfield have brought the game into disrepute and frankly they should have the book thrown at them by the west region and the sjfa. Whoever allowed this pathetic 'excuse' to stand should be punted from their role. If folk want to see proper running of non league then things like this need to stop. Wee_albert
Is it any wonder theJuniirs is in the doldrums when things like this make junior football the laughing stock of Scottish football . Who would want to sponsor or support a league set up that likes this kind of thing to happen. If Ashdield were struggling to put a team on the park then they should have contacted the league. This does not reflect well in Ashfield one of the oldest and mist decorated teams of the league bad days for everyone

It's a good product with issues, but trust me this grade still has plenty of life left in it. As for this thread, seems a strange situation have to feel for wishy on this. Man on a bike
After consultation with the West J.F.A. Secretary, Ashfield have advised that due to certain circumstances beyond their control the re-arranged match at The Beltane, Wishaw will not now take place as planned. Apologies to anyone who has re-organised shifts or personal arrangements etc, etc. Who is the West Secretary? Does he take decisions like this on his own or does he have to refer upstairs to his regional management committee? Would guess that the circumstances for this decision is so unusual he would go to the management committee to gain a broad consensus.
