Wishaw Secretary
After consultation with the West J.F.A. Secretary, Ashfield have advised that due to certain circumstances beyond their control the re-arranged match at The Beltane, Wishaw will not now take place as planned. Apologies to anyone who has re-organised shifts or personal arrangements etc, etc.
winston_ingram
What are the circumstances?
wishawloyal
Real dissapointment. What's reason behind it?
A. Young
It is laughable they cannot get access to their strips because of construction work . Wishaw offered them strips they then said there players boots were in the stadium . At end of day wishaw spend time and money preparing park for Ashfield to come up with feeble excuse that the league allow for game to be postponed . Does that mean anytime some wants a certain game called off they only have to say they can't get access to their strips and refuse the offer of a set ? Did not think the players would leave their boots at stadium when they don't train there ? Could it possibly be a cover up because of injuries and suspensions ? Wishaw also lost out on the hire of their park for another game which they were approached for during week .
Theobserver
It could be a squad issue due to them having so any players red carded recently they may have very few players available....
A. Young
Probably is the case as just checked they have 4 players suspended
wishawloyal
Absolute disgrace the SJFA are allowing the postponement. As you say any club can now use this excuse.
winston_ingram
Very poor if that is the case. Do the sjfa reimburse wishaw for costs incurred?
A. Young
Sjfa have just set a precedent to allow teams to cancel games ...... Can't get access to strips and won't borrow . Were Blantyre not MADE to wear vale of Clyde s last season ?
mick90
SJFA Rule 99x .. annexe 1 ... ` .. wherever possible, make it up as you go along .. `.
red robin
They are more or less allowing teams to pick and choose who they serve their suspensions against
Bankies Alive
Nothing to do with the SJFA. Its a West Region matter.
A. Young
West region should deal with it then but as mick90 says make rules as they go along .
GBC21s
No wonder LL and top Ams slaughter the juniors at times. This is pub team stuff, not helping the credibility of junior football at all.

Anykindafitbaw
This is a complete and utter disgrace to the junior game. As A YOUNG points out - ashfield don't train at their park, there is no way the players boots are at the park. It is an obvious attempt to get round the fact that they are unable to field a team due to suspensions or the fact that they want to play the system and make sure the suspended guys are back before a big game. Have wishaw appealed against the west's decision - can they?
bc57
Probably is the case as just checked they have 4 players suspended 5 reds in past two weeks. Game shouldn't have been played at Wishaw however, just as Benburb should not have been able to play their home game at Carluke last week.
Anykindafitbaw
Fair enough BC57 about the venue, but if they agree to switch then it should have happend - they agreed the switch earlier in the week - did they not need their boots to train on wednesday night? if they have a stadium they cant get into how did they have them for training? hmm The SJFA or the West Region must insist on the coming up with a venue or still play at wishaw before the next round of games to punish any attempt from them to have two out of the five players back before this game! It is such an obvious and unsporting use of an excuse as I have seen in 35 years watching football

My point about the venue is a separate issue and game would have been off regardless, due to the excuse being given.
