Forfar vs Stenny

Believe it was ex Brechin and East Fife social media meltdown specialist Darren McCormack.

Frustrated about the game but expected the result.

Extremely pissed off Sean Dickson is hooked every single game after 60-70 minutes when there are passengers in the squad playing worse.

It wasn't Darren McCormack, he was playing for Brechin City in their win at Stranraer today.

Thanks for your concern 2nd top of league or languishing like Montrose in Div 3 move along nothing to see.

went to this as a neutral- a truly dreadful game of football. Both sides were absolutely dire, and players could barely find a team-mate with a pass.

In the first half Stenny only really threatened fromn set pieces but otherwise seemed to favour a bizarre Champions-League Group strategy of soaking up pressure and playing for a point. Fortunately for them Forfar were almost as disjointed, hobbled by an early pulled hamstring for Dale Hilson, and also by Swankie having as poor a game as I have seen for a long time.

Fotheringham had a good game for Forfar with one or two delightful passes. Stenny huffed and puffed and were denied early in the second half by a sprawling save from big Rab at the base of his post. Comedy keeper Greg Fleming nearly cost his side the opener by spilling a routine cross and then having to save smartly, twice, from his own mess. Kader hit in a teasing cross which Denholm was only denied the opener by a flailing block from Stenny's no. 2, with Fleming shitting himself on his goal-line.

Denholm got the only goal late on. I heard the cheer in the car park. By then I had decided that this awful spectacle wasn't worth getting hypothermia for- it was bitterly cold, and frost was thickening on the terrace behind the goal.

That's the third time I have seen Forfar this season and it is hard to credit that that awful, clumsy, error-strewn performance came from the same side that swept Dunfermline aside so stylishly at the beginning of the season, and which rallied to rescue an unlikely point from a derby game at Glebe Park in November. As for Stenny, well, whatever Scott Booth is trying, is isn't working. They have some decent players but are a miserable, disjointed farrago of a team that really don't look like scoring, and which doesn't seem capable of putting three consecutive passes together. They're a surly bunch as well- the players don't appear to like one another very much and there was lots of bickering between them.

You missed the sole bit of quality football then Swankie great turn and cross and neat finish fron Denholm.

Yet another poor performance from us but good result and with other results we are right back in the mix.

highlight for me was referee giving a free kick when a Stenny player slipped on the surface.

I didn't think we played that greatly today but got the job done. Second half was much improved and the goal was real top quality play.

Looked much more solid defensively with yano back and young sitting in front of the back 4.

Been crying out for malin to get in a run in the team but he was pretty non existent.

3 points off top with a game in hand, time to go another run.

Clearly you were there and spot on with the overview.

A dire game in freezing cold conditions.

As for the Yano return, backward step for me. Let's see how things go, but I'm gonna need a lot of persuasion on this....

Someone needs to tell me why the yano thing is a backwards step ?

James and steeves I've not been impressed with, they're obviously not doing enough in development games/training.

Ivo den biemen been watching too much la liga I think

We need Sanny back ASAP

where I don't disagree, I was a bit put out at Stranraer where he took the ball round the keeper, then held it up till the defence got back, and cleared. Puzzling.

to me yano is not a backward step , he always tries his hardest and never hides , unlike the captain who needs dropped mr untouchable himself ,
