Nicola Sturgeon & Page 3

Recommended Posts

@nomorepage3 on Twitter has thanked them for giving them publicity

Which is a great response, having read through that timeline I'd say they are pretty classy and their argument about not wanting it in a newspaper that is accessible to all is somewhat understandable, although I guess it's whether or not you believe that to be the real reason they want it banned, not sure I buy it.

Anyway I find it difficult to care either way and find those on either side who are passionate about this to be c***s in the main.

They're not even fully nude.

You know there's, like, nudist families who raise their children completely nude at home and are completely nude around them growing up, right?

Like, I would maybe understand that point if it's images of full intercourse or something, but Page 3 isn't even particularly sexualized at least today. It's literally just attractive girls standing with their breasts displayed.

If we're going to "child-proof" newspapers, there's a shitload worse in there (particularly in written form, but also "expertly blurred" images of decapitated bodies and shit) that their innocent little eyes could be corrupted by.

The only reason I remotely care is precedent (like I said I haven't looked at a newspaper for like 7 years, and there's countless nudist sites and/orporn to fill the void of whatever you seek in Page 3). It's just these hardline, oppressive elements of modern feminism sinking its claws further into society. And that's not a good thing at all.

Did you know hardcore pornography is ILLEGAL in Iceland. You can literally go to prison for publishing adult pornography..

Like if these people were just happy to campaign and pressure for things to be removed I'd be fine, but they're the extremist sort who would see more laws made, people thrown in prison just to get them to live their lives they way they desire them to.

It's frightening.

I don't know, seeing as it was the times who reported it ending in the first place, it's a typically classless stunt by the sun considering the amount of people who are strongly against it. A big f**k you for having an opinion imo. Toying with people's emotions is a pretty shit thing to do, the sun are pretty good at it and have sunk even further in estimation.

It's craigkillie/big Gus all over again.

Not one for conspiracy theories, but given that the Sun and the Times are owned by the same guy, I smell shite.

Really, proof of that?

Please explain how this stopped people having an opinion.

Toying with people's emotions is a pretty shit thing to do,

That's what people said about the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.

It's just what I heard, sorry don't have time to look into it just now.

It didn't stop anyone having an opinion, I was more meaning the way they've dangled the prize in front of the campaigners and yanked it away is like a big F U to those with that opinion. Of course this may have just been a one off and they ditched it, time will tell.

er....ok.
