airdrieman Posted January 16, 2015 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Turns out Grant Drummond is still at the club with the club's Facebook page stating it was his birthday today. Got no idea how fit he is though. If he can play then he is surely a better option than Fitzpatrick at centre - half? Also Jack Kirwan played for the U20s last week so could make his comeback into the first team soon. Haven't seen him play yet but another option upfront anyway. Utility player who could be really valuable as we badly need some cover in defence and midfield and some strength in depth. Look how we crumbled last week when we had to make changes to the team. Signing Gilfillan will help to solve that though we still need to sign another centre - half IMO. Streetwise player and adds a bit of steel too which, apart from Docherty, we've been missing. Can play centre - half if required but primarily a midfielder which TBH I think we needed cover for as if Docherty or Fraser were to get injured we'd be screwed. Covers a few wholes that were needing to be filled though we do still need another centre - half. Gilly is a good lad to have, has played all over the park for us but can be a bit suspect at the back. Apparently travel was the main reason for him moving on. Wilson, Hammill, Parker, Proctor, Haggerty and Drummond out: Gilfillan, Lindsay and now Jordan Morton in. Interesting that a natural winger has been brought in as for the whole season we've been playing with centre - mids out wide. Apparently a luxury player with a great left foot. Never really got a chance at Motherwell, behind guys like Higdon, McFadden, Sutton, Ojamaa, McDonald etc. Definitely at the stage in his career where he needs to move on and get first team football.
