The Albert picked up the three points in this hard fought but well deserved victory.

Congratulations to the Rangers committee for getting the game on.

The first ten minutes were nothing much to speak of as the teams tested each other out.

The first effort on goal came from the Albert from a long range shot from Alan Campbell which

didn't test the goalie the next chance came again from the Albert but again didn't test the keeper.

Then after 25mins the Albert created a great chance when Alan Campbell played in Scott McLachlan who shot which the keeper saved and when it looked easier to score he somehow missed the rebound.

Five mins later the Albert created an even better chance but the same player missed the chance.

Cambuslang then created a chance when from a run and cross from the wing the ball shot across the box with knowone there to take the chance.

The were the next to create a chance when David Hamilton was put through on the keeper but the keeper did well to save his shot. That was the last real chance of the first half. The Albert should have went in Three goals up hopefully they would not regret the missed chances.

The second half started with Cambuslang on the attack but without creating any real chances.

After 15mins the Cambuslang created their first chance but the Albert goalie saved well then after 35 mins the Albert went ahead when Keiran Fleming ran down the wing and crossed forScott McLachlan to score by the keeper.

Cambuslang pressed for the equaliser but never really tested the Albert keeper , the Albert created two really good chances which they should have converted to goals but bad finishing and bad decisions meant it was a squeaky bum finish .

It was a good three points for the Albert and deserved.

Many thanks Jarvie31, it was a surprising result to be honest but it seems like the wee gers are lacking something just now. Great 3 pts for the Albert though. Pushes them up the league again, never an easy game vs royal Albert.

Still a very tight league & like any other season all teams have a hick up along the way. We have st.roch's next Saturday at home & i am sure they will be a tough test for our boys.

After that another cup tie so no league duty & yet another game to catch up on. Good to get back to action yesterday. To be honest i was surprised by the way the game turned out, we could have scored a couple more & the burgh also had a few chances both halves.

It certainly did not flatter us winning by 5-0 away to a club who you would think will also be challenging for one of those precious 3 places at the end of the season.

But you have to take your chances & that is what we did on Saturday to push us back into pole position. Good luck to all the 2nd division clubs left in the Scottish in 2 weeks time. Would be a great achievement for one of us to get into the last 16.
