Dimbleby is quitting at the end of the year.

They should just give the gig to Farage since he is already on the show most weeks.

Wonder who'll get the gig?

Probably a woman as the Beeb are trying hard to dispel the accusations that they don't treat them as equals. Somebody like Laura Kuenssberg perhaps?

God I hope not.

Kirsty Wark is after the gig, I believe.

I'm sure she will give any SNP politician invited onto the show a completely fair & unbiased hearing on the rare occasion they are invited to appear.

In a similar vein, I'm also sure that Arbroath will finally win the Scottish Cup in 2018/19.

That old shagbag?

I knew someone who was at Edinburgh Uni same time as she was there.

It was said that she could speak 5 different languages but didn't know how to say no in any of them!

Is it possible “Auntie Beeb” will force Kate Andrews and Nigel Farage into Seth Brundle’s transportation machine and give the result the job?

I think  Bullingdon Boy Dimbleby will be followed by another good safe Tory - Andrew Neil or Nick Robinson.

John Pienaar, mostly stuck on Radio 5 these days is probably the best of a bad lot when it comes to taking a BBC incumbent and would like to see him get a shot

The boy David Porter on Radio Scotland is pretty good too.

Unlikely that either of them or anyone like them would get the gig - they are far too fair across the board.

ETA: is Dimbleby's brother still about? If so, it will probably be him.

Will be a shame to see Dimbleby go... 'the man with the spectacles'

Hard to believe he's been doing it for 25 years.

I would say he's done a pretty good job given the material gets to work with from time to time.

Aye fair play to him.

Having to go to Wigan on a Thursday night post EU ref takes some doing.

He does the radio version on a Friday night.

Bring back Peter Sissons, he's younger than Dimbleby too.

WTF?

Slut shaming is not a good look - in fact, it just makes you look like a p***k.

Would you have slagged off a potential male presenter based on some rumours that he liked a shag at Uni?
