The Naitch
Deserved win, even if we nearly shat it in the second half. Totally bossed the first half - the first from Kilday was an absolute beauty. Thought Stenny started the second half far more brightly and, when they scored from that free kick, I thought it was a matter of time before they scored again. McManus and McCluskey combined well to settle the nerves, though. Glad we've got a break from the league now, think we need it.
vikingTON
A straightforward home win before the cup break would be lovely, certainly there shouldn't be any issues of complacency within the squad, after dropping three points at Ochilview despite a lengthy spell of domination. The number of chances conceded in recent games suggests that Stenny will score at least one, which so long as we do a bit more up front than at Airdrie, would still be acceptable. 3-1. Pleasing. TonMan
Excellent win. Thought we played some very good stuff in the early stages of the match. Kilday's first goal was a beauty and his second was decent as well. Felt like he had a brilliant all-round game and it was his best performance so far by a mile, even though he's generally been decent anyway. Pepper was decent too, working hard as always. They looked quite weak in defence, but were sometimes threatening in attack. They improved a lot in the 2nd half, while we weren't playing the same level of football that put us into the lead. Very disappointing to concede a goal like that, and once they had one I was expecting them to get an equaliser. Well done from us though to grab a 3rd and seal it though, pleased overall. sjc
Pleasing. Next. Have to admit that I was disappointed at Morton's relegation last season as I was looking forward to visiting Cappelow this season.......as well as your Box Office of course vT. beaver1
First half was dire but at least we showed a decent level of commitment in the second and actually made a game of it. We did look like we could get a 2nd - Josh Watt made an impact when he came on - but going down to 10 men meant it was game over. Booth still has work to do. AyrshireTon
Decent, if unspectacular first half with two great goals. Defence had little to do. Second half fell on its arse and Stenny deservedly pulled one back - their no. 18 who came on at HT made a world of difference to them. Suddenly we were panicking and our play was all over the place. The relief as the third went in was evident all round the ground, as an equaliser had seemed more likely. Still top - two weeks to get it sorted for the Stranraer game. Neilly
Nice historical quote bro that wasn't sad in the slightest. Have to hand it to Killer that first goal was a worldy. Left at half time back to our usual shite. Least we scored our first away goal of the season excluding yon' pub team.
earwig
Stenny made it easy for Morton with a weak central midfield,a defence that get caught too high up the park and a hard working "Tanner Baw" player up front who wont pass the ball after drawing 3 defenders away from the goal area.Morton played more laid back in the second half and had nothing to do with Stenny subs coming on who made no difference to the final outcome also Jamie McCluskey caused a lot of bother and got more room than he should have, a very sharp player

vikingTON
If opposing teams continue to make wild claims of competency before the match, while actually succumbing to the better team on the day, we might just win promotion.

Watt made no difference the lad lost the ball more than he passed it, no end product, not up to it,one footed, not versatile, can only play one position, not fit enough to play 90 minutes, thats the reason he's on the bench since Booth took over. Walsh did the "Headless Chicken" again only reason he gets picked for Scotland is the Rangers signing. There was no panic in the second half morton were just a wee bit too laid back and Stenny couldn't take advantage of this
Jamie_M
Highlights:http://www.stenhouse...reenock-morton/Post match interviews:http://www.stenhouse...reenock-morton/ Brilliant ball for the first goal, well taken by Kilday. He had some game yesterday. Great advantage played for the 2nd and a great wee dink through from Declan. Third goal was excellent. Been a critic of Stefan but he did really well in that move. Great ball from Declan. His assists recently have been brilliant. The goal we lost was as horrible as I remembered. Poor all round and made what should have been a comfortable afternoon very uneasy for a bit in the 2nd half.Good 3 points.
