Right, I'm going to a casino on Saturday and will be looking to take a few million off them. Advice please.

In all seriousness, I've never been to a casino before, so does anyone have any advice for a novice?

Thank you!

You're best just going for the drink and not playing really.

If you do want to play sit yourself down at a roulette machine and go for red/black, odd/even, high/low. The odds are slightly less than even and it pays even money. They're also linked to a live table in a casino.

The best odds are on the blackjack table, but only if you know how to play.

If you have an addictive personality I'd suggest taking cash and leaving your bank card with a trusted friend or at home.

I can play blackjack and poker. Bit apprehensive of sitting down at a poker table mind you. Might just stick with the blackjack.

Go with a set amount, but remember to take your bank card incase you run out. If you are well down, keep playing, you will win it back. Make sure and drink lots, it makes it more fun and takes your inhibitions away which will lead to you chasing your money more effectively.

Sounds like a plan m8.

The odds are Evens. The probability is less than half.

Yeah, go to a casino to pay over inflated prices on drink

Depending on what casino you go to, I'd say the prices are no more expensive than most city pubs and cheaper than most clubs.

They're a good solid drinking alternative to a club when the pubs shut.

If you know how to play, then play blackjack for a fiver a hand.

Don't sit in the last box though (i.e. the last place to play before the dealer), unless you want some grizzled veteran to question every call and blame you every time he loses a hand.

I know someone else suggested it, but personally I wouldn't play roulette for reds / blacks odds / evens, you can still chase on that, and to be honest that can be a bit boring after a while and lead you to betting on streets, numbers, and so on.

Good timing for this thread, I tried to get into a casino last night, but am still banned because I shagged a croupier 15 years ago. Weird.

He must of thought you were a shite ride :P

f**k machines man, you can play roulette machines from your desktop at home. If you're going to the casino, get yourself on a table - the real deal.

I don't like casinos after I once nearly lost 80 quid. Kept doubling my bet on roulette to win my money back and kept losing. It would have got to the point where I wouldn't have enough funds to carry on and be at a highly unsustainable loss. Was proper shiteing it but managed to get it back. Let out a cheer of relief when I did and went straight home to bed.
