due to travel there on saturday, hoping that the damage isn't anywhere near expected. Got a lot of friends out there so concerned about them. whats really baffling is cnn have their news crews standing out in hurricane force winds, John Bergman one of their news anchors is quite visibly putting himself in considerable danger for no apparent reason.

Got friends in orlando and tampa, all still quite active on social media just now saying things not to bad soo far

It just seems that they are so desperate to be martyrs that they'd put themselves at risk when theres really no need, commentary over a remote camera is fine eh?
Dont think Orlando will get hit for another few hours, its looking like it'll just be the outer edges of the storm that clatters it there, Tampa on the other hand, uft.

No fun in seeing a remote camera getting decapitated by a bit of flying debris.

Got back from a 2 week holiday from Florida yesterday, the 2nd week we were down in the Sandkey resort at Clearwater Beach and everyone is quite rightly panicking as they are saying this is going to be the worst hurricane experienced their in 100 years.

Our hotel was evacuated on Friday morning, people were forced to either seek alternative accommodation or travel home. Luckily for us we were due to travel home on Friday night anyway so the only thing was instead of spending 3/4 hours at the airport we had to spend 8 hours. The airport was a lot pandemonium with people trying get flights out of there.

Scary stuff and thoughts are with the people there.

No prayers, huh?

Fox in the eye of the storm, hilarious in a  truly brutal US fashion.

Some of the storm hunter types have live feeds, more informed less sound like they are on coke and having to make conversation.

Pretty fucking hairy in Orlando right now. Forecasters got it way wrong. Eye didn't move out to coast and is coming right up and through downtown Orlando.

Was rudely awakened an hour ago by my mate sending videos from Tampa on WhatsApp. Thankfully safe and well, and their accommodation is intact but fucking hell, the noise or the wind, rain and debris flying about is incredible.

Stay safe MP.
