The Albert fell to their second defeat of the season at the hands of Rossvale.

The first half was really a non event with both teams huffing and puffing but not really threatening either teams goal, it was 25mins into the game when Rossvale had their first chance but it was wasted when the striker shot wide of the goals. They had a better chance 5mins later but the Albert goalie parried the shot away .

The Albert had good chance from a long throw but the shot at the back post was mishit into the goalies arms.

That was it for the first half .

The Albert started the second half better but without creating any chances but 10mins into the second half Rossvale went in front and there was huge slice of luck involved when from clearance from a corner the ball was mishit in from 20yds as it bounce into the box it fell right at the feet of the Rossvale striker as the Albert defence was running out he slotted the ball by the Albert keeper.

The Albert then had a chance to equalise when Scott McLachlan was put through but was brought down by the Rossvale defender. A red card was a bit harsh from the resultant free kick the Albert hit the post after a fine save from the Rosvale keeper. The Rossvale keeper then produced two good saves in 5mins . With 5mins to go Rossvale scored their second from a breakaway to secure the three points.

Rossvale just about deserved their win and will not be far away from promotion at the end of the season as they have three or four quality players especially on the attacking side also Robbie Winters strolled through the game making passes and chances for his team mates.

The Albert will need to do better especially going forward as this was a game they could have taken something from for the second week in a row.

It was good to see Scott Mclachlan back, but they were missing 6 players today including their two goal scoters from last season.

Totally new squad for this season, still missing three from what should be an even stronger first 11. Very tough game yesterday, and if albert had their other strickers available, it could have been a different score line.

Great start but very long journey ahead for this club to get to where they want to be.
