All things Dundee FC

Let's say, worst case scenario, we've signed a player that's not a shadow of his former self, then we've arguably still got a player that will comfortably be up there with the best in Scottish football.

Let's say he's the same talent as before, and just needs time and patience to get up to speed - then the board are printing money.

Happy to announce the board and McCann have well and truly shut my greeting puss with this signing. Yasssssss.

I just want to pick this moment to recirculate this video as a warning to St Mirren and St Johnstone posters poisoning this thread.

Thank you.

What a glorious man Giovanni was.

On to big Caulker,  it could go either way but surely even if he's half fit he'll do well in this league.

Convince the big beautiful b*****d to play for Scotland before Hanley gets any more caps please.

That's some signing for Dundee. Even though he's not kicked a ball since mid-September you'd think he'd stroll this league.

Unlike your Alves, Toure, Barton, Kranjcar, Hill et al he's only 26 so should have his peak years ahead of him. You'd think there's the potential for a re-sale value if he can keep himself on track. It's clear why no one in England was willing to take a chance on him but reading that Guardian article he's a year sober and similar with his gambling. Assuming he keeps his head down and does a job Dundee could easily cash in on him for a decent wedge.

Edit: Interview with him on ITV London here.

So long as he’s not currently staying at the new Hilton next door to Fat Sams and opposite the casino, everything will be fine.

...or in the Hilltoon!

That's a tremendous signing for Dundee on the face of it.

18-month deal too is a win-win for you guys as already discussed in this thread re selling him in the summer for a fee etc.

As has also been said, signings like this and Mulumbu at Kilmarnock can only enhance our game in a positive way.

If he has as big an impact as Mulumbu then this could be an inspired acquisition come the summer.

I hope it works out well for you guys. All the Best! :thumsup2

Dundee FC once again demonstrating why we are viewed as box office by all in world football with this signing. I was pretty down about it all after last weekend and it's a huge boost to get a signing in like this.

It's great to see that McCann is able to convince players of that calibre to come and play for us, bodes well for the future imo.

I hope this big man can cast his deamons aside as he will be a huge asset for us if he can play anywhere near his potential.

Just the boost we were needing, it's certainly no coincidence that I spent all afternoon walking around at work nursing a full chubby.

thankyou

Worst case scenario is that you're paying a fortune to a player who'll struggle to concentrate on football and will regularly miss training, and you'll end up with his wage in the Championship.

He's a complete defender though, so even a half arsed Caulker should swat aside strikers in this league.
