Wait for the defenders presence and then drop down for a free kick or a penalty. Big Moore was the same at Ladeside - played with his slippers on! We've had our fair share with Love, Downs briefly and Hobbs. You also get players who get fouled more than others due to being brave to take players on and take the ball in tight situations who then don't always get fouls from refs due to them getting fouled a lot and refs think that they are at it.
