Derek Rae tweeted this quote by Ian Cathro which sums up a lot of Scottish football broadcasting etc for me

I'm not saying that we need to have ultra analytical, dry programmes reading out expected goal stats and talking about false nines, but if we could actually talk about the sport a bit more rather than bringing out ex players to spout cliches then Sportsound etc would be far better.

Ian Cathro is a great lad - if it was up to me he'd be borderline unsackable

('unsackable' tried to autocorrect to 'unsociable')

The sports bit on the news on Radio Scotland this morning, led with "Hearts travel to Aberdeen this lunchtime, knowing that victory will enable Celtic to seal the title against Dundee".

I'd be surprised if that was uppermost in the minds of the Hearts players or fans, but hey ho.

Why are they continuing to lie about not watching a feed from Ibrox?

'They are playing a 3-5-2, although I can't see that' :unsure2:

Then talking about a banner in the crowd and what it says.

But definitely NOT watching a live feed.

It's fucking laughable.

They actually admitted right at the start the Thompson was in the studio watching online.

Yup. Thompson cracked a joke that his fingers would get injured with all the scrolling he would have to do to cover the game.

I think scrolling through twitter etc. Is their cover story. No way would they admit to watching an illegal online steam

Is it an illegal steam though? Surely as a broadcast partner they'll have a feed going to their production department to out together the highlight packages? They used to say things like that all the time - someone at the game would comment on an incident and someone in the studio (usually Richard Gordon) would say something like "we've just seen a replay and it looks like a red card" or whatever.

It's been derided on here before, but it deserves constant repeating.

Actually appointing someone to sit in a room and watch a stream/refresh twitter feeds. Fucking hell.
