St Mirren vs Hamilton Accies - 13/08/14

Recommended Posts

Would like to get at least a point here, but by the sounds of it st mirren played really well against Motherwell, so not optimistic for this.

Would like a couple of changes to the squad something like this...

.......................McGovern

..Gordon...Canning....Tena.....Hendrie

............................Neil

.........Crawford...............Redmond

....Imrie...............MAC...........Longridge

If we can keep it tight at the back, and make no major mistakes, we could nick something, basing that our good record at st mirren park.

Mon the Accies!

With Goodwin out and us being at home I suspect that we'll not put anyone in the defensive midfield position, probably going with just McLean and McGinn in the centre. However, there's a chance young Declan Hughes could be put in that role, which would be good to see.

Confident of a win after hearing about the performance today (missed it due to work), but it's St Mirren, so you never know...

Changes needed for this one. Sounds like St Mirren didn't sound like they played too badly against Motherwell but just didn't put the ball in the net so it's going to be another tough test, every game will be this season.

McGovern

Gordon Canning Jesus MacDonald

Neil Gills

Longridge Redmond Crawford

MAC

Devlin looked nervy and cost us a goal today, Hendrie looked very poor and Scotland looked unfit, slow and lazy.

I'd like us to keep the ball on the deck more and take the game to St Mirren as I think we looked at our best today when doing so.

Big improvement required if we're to get a positive result on Wednesday. Today was proof that mistakes are costly at this level and will be punished but hopefully we'll learn from that. Scotland had a poor game but he was left an isolated figure up front on his own. Not enough support arriving from midfield or our two wide men for him to link up play. We don't have much height in our team so we need to keep the ball on the deck and retain possession better than today as our passing was very sloppy at times. If we don't then St Mirren are likely to take advantage of this. A draw would be a decent result but I reckon it's going to take a few games for some of our younger lads to find their feet at this level and can't really see past a Saints win here. 2-1 :(

The good news for Accies is Thommo is still injured. 20 attempts at goal yesterday with 11 on target yet could not score! However if we keep making chances like that then some are bound to go in. Feeling quite confident about the season now as we are playing attractive attacking football with a lot of skill. A home win is a must on Wed to get points on the table.

Pretty sure Goodwin can play on Wednesday.

Sadly not.
