Sheridan was a hero and had a huge groundswell of support behind him. But does anyone really still believe that he didn't visit the sex clubs? See if he had just laughed it off and held his hands up to it, he would probably have lost very few of his supporters. "Och, what a laddie!" Instead, he split his party, which has come over subsequently as a vindictive wee collection of maddies. It's a great shame for something that could have made a real difference to the political scene in Scotland. I don't have much sympathy for him. His erstwhile party is now just another daft wee name on a long, long list of inconsequential entries on local election ballot papers. ^^^^^^ Sad but basically this cuts through to the truth.
