glensmad
I took a drive down to watch Ardeer v Largs yesterday as it was the only game on in the Super Leagues, I'd never been there before, and we're due at Ardeer next Saturday. After using the two different postcodes available on Google for the Ardeer Stadium and finding myself in the completely wrong part of the town on both occasions (accompanied by some also-confused Largs supporters), I eventually found the ground ten minutes after kick off. (Note to Ardeer, I couldn't find a postcode on the club website.) Anyway, with Largs leading 2-0 with 15 minutes remaining I had to leave to pick up my daughter, but it looked like "game over" as Largs seemed well in control. When I noticed it was 3-0 on Twitter in the 89th minute I wasn't surprised, but when I saw that Arder had pulled it back to 3-2 in injury time I wondered what was going on. Largs held on for an important three points though. There was a decent crowd at the game, to be fair, I'm not sure if it was boosted by the lack of other games as I bumped into a few familiar faces (it's always a pleasure to speak to Beith chairman John Boal, a real gentleman of the junior game). I'm looking forward to going back there on Saturday (especially now that I know how to get there without the magical mystery tour of the sat nav), as it's now a big game for both teams, given recent results. Strange we found it no problem. Bad result for Ardeer, they looked decent when we played then, surprised to see them now struggling .
ardeerultra
We seem create the chances and at times look more capable of winning a game but we seem to be struggling to see a game out or take our chances. I think we have a good squad and derek gemmell is a smashing guy so hopefully we can start picking up points again. The Largs no 4 looked decent yesterday, a thought it was a goal for us but the lino thought otherwise

(Note to Ardeer, I couldn't find a postcode on the club website. The ground doesn't have a postcode AFAIK but I've added the one for the units at the end of Old Quarry Road, presumably if following the postcode via a satnav it should get people to us ok in future. Did you follow the directions on our website? I've rejigged them slightly now but they should have got you to us no problem. Had a look at the SJFA club directory and the postcode on there is for a different street altogether, so I'll try and get them to change that. Anyway, as for the game itself, we were very poor yesterday. I'm unsure whether Largs deserve credit for making us look bad or whether we just had a complete off day. Didn't think Largs looked great but they didn't look like a bottom of the table side either. I had a terrible view of our disallowed "goal" just before the break but everyone I spoke to thought Holden's header crossed the line after hitting the bar and the keeper. I've seen a still image which looked quite conclusive and heard that someone (presumably with Largs) was recording the match and could see the ball was over the line. Anyway, whether rightly or wrongly it wasn't given by the assistant ref and Largs went up the park, forcing a super save from Paul McCann before scoring from the resultant corner. Bad time to concede right on half time especially when we could have been 1-0 up. We had one good chance at the start of the second half but Largs were in control, the heads seemed to go down at 2-0 and then the game was over when Marks scored his second in the last minute. Our two quickfire goals in stoppage time seemed to come out of nowhere but we had no time to complete the unlikeliest of comebacks. I think next week's game against Glencairn is tougher on paper than the last two, but we really need to pick up a home win to try and avoid being in deeper relegation trouble. glensmad
I didn't follow the directions on the website, although I did read them before I left, but they didn't mean much to me as I don't know the area at all. I was driving and on my own, so it was easier to let the satnav talk to me. Except it took me to somewhere else. :-)

Ardeer_Samoyed
Not a great game yesterday. Largs were the better team and deserved the 3 points. Left after 90 minutes so missed both our goals.
RobRoyGuy
For sure this is going to be the tighest super 1st league of all time . Ok Pollok have ran away with it , but usually by now you have one or two teams detached . not this season and i expect it to stay like this. Staying up pts total could be anything this year. glensmad
It'll probably be lower than the usual 33 or 34 points for safety as there is no whipping boy in the league who everybody is beating.

glensmad
...Glencairn need to start improving if their promotion bid is to stay on track... I'd agree with that. We haven't got the rub of the green in our last two league games and have conceded goals far too easily, but nobody will care about that outside of Glencairn, they will only see the results which are the bottom line. We need to start taking our chances and, if we do, that'll give our defence some breathing space as we appear to be getting punished to the full for every little mistake at the back at the moment. We are still in touch with the promotion issue with the games in hand that we have, but points on the board are always better than games in hand. If we are seriously to contend for promotion then we will need to go on a run of three or four wins in a row. Ardeer need the points every bit as much as we do, though, so as usual we will be expecting a very tough away game on Saturday. It's a big pitch at the Ardeer Stadium, but the time of year will make it a bit soft and maybe a bit bumpy, so it'll be a "roll up your sleeves" afternoon I'm sure. glensmad
My thought is why are Yoker not playing Largs since only Yoker have only played 12 League games, slightly off topic I know But a very good point regardless. Yoker have played four less games than Irvine Vics. Irvine Vics have already played Largs this season, and are now playing them again this Saturday. Yoker have still to play Largs away from home. Yoker are likely to be on Scottish Junior Cup duty again on the 14th, yet they are given a free weekend on the 7th ? Seems a strange decision to me. gjfc25
My thought is why are Yoker not playing Largs since only Yoker have only played 12 League games, slightly off topic I know Greenock are scheduled away to Neilston, IF that game was to be postponed and Ravenscraig was playable, would they not schedule a league game or the West scotland cup game with Yoker? I know it's unlikely to happen but makes sense !
