The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

Aberdeen have just confirmed on twitter they have permission to speak to Sunderland. They met 'all contractual obligations' in doing so. Seems like their contracts will be paid up in full with more compensation possibly on top of that? Good business for Aberdeen, although at a very difficult time considering how close we are to the start of the European campaign.

Fair enough......

Still not a done deal though and even if it does become one we will survive and move on.

Acknowledge it might take a season to rebuild, but club is financially in great shape.

You're sounding a little bit like the Iraqi information minister right about now.

Well thats it then.....must be true

SSN further saying "Compensation of around £1M agreed earlier this afternoon, Sunderland have met all contractural obligations, McInnes is flying home from Florida and Aberdeen will make no further statements meantime"

I'd just like to read a prepared statement on behalf of the P&B Dandies and I won't be taking any questions at the end.

At this difficult time it is right that all our thoughts and prayers are with the Aberdeen support, their families and their loved ones.

We're all going to need to take some time to digest these traumatic events and I would ask that you respect our privacy.

We will be making no further comment at this time.

Thank you.

Ok lets deal in facts

Loss of McGinn, Taylor, Jack (no loss really) and possible loss of Hayes.

Loss of management team

£1.2m in compensation to be banked, possible further £1.2m for thirty year old Hayes

Multi million pound investment announced yesterday

Succession planning in place for McInnes leaving

Players already identified as coming in

Yep, lots of other team's supporters would swap places to be where we are.

Life before McInnes & Doc and life after them.

So much for "moving heaven and earth" then

Bit of struggle to understand what was meant by that it would appear.

By agreeing to compensation figure all it means is that Derek is free to speak to them. Doesn't mean it is a done deal. We could and I stress COULD potentially still offer them a new improved contract and player budget and they could stay.

Imagine that eh !
