Yeah, there's been quite a few differences between jury and televoters; Austria for one scored great with the former, middle of the pack with the latter. The Netherlands decent with the jury, okay with televoters. UK shit with both.

Ukraine got 11 from the jury, 180 or so from televotes. I think it's a decent system, even if it's not without its faults.

Why have the jury vote at the rehearsals though? Seems like 2 different competitions going on and we don't even see what they were voting on.

Totally this. Why can’t they vote on what we see?

The argument is you won't get shafted completely if you have one bad day. Case in point; Surie having one uninterrupted performance, and one that was a little more hotly contested. Additionally, it gives the jury (made up of at least 5 people)  some time to discuss and come to an agreement (televoters only get like, what, 40 minutes?).

It's supposed to be a final, tough shit if you f**k up on the day. Juries don't need a conference, just means Russia voting for Moldova. Australia apparently fucked up their rehearsal, it's what they're for, but stormed it in the final imo. Not that she would have won, but it just seems unnecessary.

Odds on Eurovision not going ahead in Israel next year ?

They held the Giro d'Italia across three different days in the desert and Jeruzalem this year, there is no way they wouldn't be able to organize three nights in a heavily fortified bunker of a venue when they managed to keep 200+ cyclists and all the spectators alive this past week.

For Russia, sure, but any countries that want to pass fair judgment will need time to order all countries according to their merits. With five people at a table, you've got a lot of arguing to do.

Aye utter pish it’s a final judges should vote on performance in final not at “rehearsal “ it’s a fucking rehearsal after all.

They can just tick the boxes and add up the scores. Why would they need to argue about it?
