invergowrie arab
Series was really good and that last one was brilliant.
banana
Just catching up with this too, seen the first four episodes, hit n semi-miss so far. 'Sardines' (episode 1) was absolutely exceptional television, absurdly good characterizations, tension and intrigue. The tramp episode was also very good, loving that the main dude's weird behaviour throughout all fell into place at the end with also a great social commentary. The other two episodes a bit weird without the payoff. Is there another season planned?
Satans_Husband
I'm pretty sure a third one is in the works.

(Not clear from your post if you are aware of that, but reads like you think there's just one) -

jimmy boo
Back on tonight.......it's been a long wait.
Antlion
That was an absolutely spot-on parody of old 70s/80s teleplays (Tales of the Unexpected, etc). They even used old filming equipment. As expected from Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, the twist ending was jet black. Just sublime. New series starts February, apparently. Keeley Hawes is amongst the many guest stars.
Blootoon87
Aye, they've nailed it again.
BallochSonsFan
That ending was so dark. Absolutely brilliant.
JustOneCornetto
Series 3 picks up again after the Christmas episode, tomorrow night 10.00 pm on BBC2 Philip Glenister and Jason Watkins join Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith in first of 5 new episodes. After a night out at a restaurant the four of them get into an increasingly bizarre argument over who pays the bill.
Satans_Husband
I thought it was a pretty good opener, while being no classic. Very pleasing that it's back on and that they're currently filming the fourth series.
killieshire
Enjoyed the banter and the paying for a meal stereotypes. The last twist was slightly disappointing as it took away from the darker aspects and the previous twist was also slightly predictable.
Blootoon87
I enjoyed it but I think the plan left a bit too much to chance. How could they predict how Philip Glenister would move his arm?
Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Am I reading too much into this that Philip Glenister's character was wanting the Nanny to do a 'Kate and Gerry'?
jimmy boo
Not the best episode they've made but enjoyable nonetheless.
JustOneCornetto
Thought it was pretty good. I like to do a bit of research to find out what the main influence was and this one leans heavily on a Roald Dahl story called The Man From The South which was the very first episode of Tales Of The Unexpected.
pittsburgh phil
Caught up with it on the I Player there - a solid if unspectacular start to the series.
Antlion
Only watched this with half an eye on it, but I didn't get the final scene at all. Philip Glennister joined the little group of conmen in trying to scam someone else - is that all, or have I missed something deeper?
