Mark Connolly
We did a segway tour when we were there. Took you round all the major locations in a few hours.
Marshmallo
I am jealous. I have been to Munich but it was desultory: Airport>Office>Lunch>Office>Airport. Mind you, pretty-much any German city is a delightful adventure. Thus I hope you and your pals have a brilliant time. Be sure to post some war stories? Aye? I went at the start of March, it was possibly my favourite city I've ever been to.
Ray Vaughn
Went to Munich in Early April. It was pretty cold that week (the wife hates the cold) and there were flakes of snow the first day (back in Scotland was warmer but Munich is over 1000 feet up) Munich doesn't have blockbuster tourist centres to tick off. We went for four nights and ended up going to Salzberg in Austria by train on the third day. Food and drink were great. The Ratskieller below the a Town Hall in Marienplatz was my favourite place (it's a massive basement below the Town Hall - great food I went for pork on the bone and the wife went for lamb on the bone - both were tremendous) We didn't consider going to Dachau as we had visited Auschwitz on a previous trip to Krakow. As the wife as no intention of going back, a return trip with the boys for a football weekend on the beer would be something I intend to do. Lofarl
Bayern are playing at home on Saturday. What are my chances of getting a ticket? Viagogo has none but is there a ticket sell at the match?
Stevie Aitken's Love Child
You mit be lucky to pick up a ticket at the stadium, but otherwise I'd be very surprised if you can get one. The stadium has been sold out months in advance for every game this season.
Lofarl
Can someone refresh my memory, I know the S1 and S8 trains run to the airport and back, am I right in thinking that one of them splits and one goes to the airport and one goes elsewhere? I'm almost sure this is the case. I'd hate to get on the wrong one.

For the way back to the airport, we had to get the S1 and get off 3 stops and then change onto the S8 to the airport.Had a smashing trip, experienced the Hofbräuhaus for a meal and German entertainment on the Friday. The Saturday we went to the Allienz Arena for a look about before the game. (We didn't have tickets unfortunately) we took in the atmosphere though (I had my Rovers scarf with me) met a few scots, a couple of guys who'd won a competition with Sky and a Partick thistle fan who came right up to us and was like "Raith Rovers? Excellent!" I was offered a ticket by a a tout at the train station, he wanted 120 which I had to decline. I had enough money, but couldn't go on my own, while 12 of my pals had to go back! fecking wish I had though. Saturday Night I got hammered at the kultfabrik nightclub complex. Eddy' rock bar followed by rafaels club. We wanted to go to club NOX as a few of us are into dance/electronic music but the goths outside told us to forget it! Porno vodka and ficken energy had me partying till at least 4am. Woke up at about 8.30, and decided to go to Dachau with one more mate (there was 13 of us) glad I did go though, totally worth the 3 for the 2 and a half hour 2. I would have quite happily spent about 5 hours there though, but we thought the tour would be sufficient as we were heading home later at night. Our tour guide had Jewish family, as well as her grandfather who was unsuccessful in joining the SS as his nose was "too big" we was a great tour guide and focused on the prisoners and how they were treated. It was pretty grim, but insightful and interesting at the same time. I'd definitely go back. Even just to drink shit loads of Steins! We stayed at Jaegers Hostel. 10 of us in a room. It was fine for what it was, but if I go back, of probably rather stay in a hotel! Some of my pals "German" was beyond belief though, one of my mates asked for 5 beers with "Das Bitte"

Anything worth seeing or going to that's open in the evenings?? Munchen you say...

Ross.
There's a boozer near the Frauenkirche call Tabacco. Tremendous selection of Gin and Whisky, and the guy that runs it had the driest sense of humour of anyone I've ever met. I came away unsure if he was an arsehole or hilarious. Would definitely recommend a drink in there.

The Mantis
Been twice. I'm quite an auld c**t so not interested in nightclubs. Big into photography though. For me the Hofbrauhaus is too touristy. Well worth a walk through and maybe even get a photo of the frauleins serving the beer but it takes ages to get served so I would go somewhere around Marienplatz which is just around the corner. The olympiapark is worth a couple of hours and the views are great, as far as the Alps. The BMW museum is right there anyway. The Allianz obviously but the English tours are often booked up so you might have to wait. I did a blog about Munich in case anybody's interested HERE.
