Yes-moving our to allow the house builders to start on Adamslie without having a ground ready was a fatal mistake. If now the club are relying on local authority co-operation to provide a facility on land the club don’t own I fear they could be in for a long wait.

Why is Adamslie still there if the intention was to build houses on it?

History should tell you never to give up your ground without having a new one ready to move to.

Afaik the original builder went tits up. Once the new one came in they have had access problems as the only way into the site is by the gate on the main road behind the pavilion. They have applied to have a roundabout built, but there have been loads of objections.

Dawn homes are having the traffic lights moved further down to the new entrance . The £ rob roy have will still allow them to build the new facility but maybe not as big as the original plans due to the councils decision to only prepare the land now. It will now be up to rob roy to run the facility but then they will be able to keep the £ generated rather than the money going into a fund

Shame how this has panned out but sympathy has to be limited as it seems self inflicted. Hope they get something sorted though.

Ground sharing is ok within your own town like the Clydebank/ Yoker situation but travelling to another place to watch home games has to be a massive pain in the hole.

You can bet they wish they had kept the many thousands that Jimmy Lindsay spunked away on an underachieving squad.

And that would help the stadium situation in what way ? Thought we were discussing the stadium

No they don’t they need the permission to start the project on the site that the council told them was earmarked for it. The council have opted out of being involved in the project and now talking about taking bids in the site
And if they get permission? Every penny they have will be needed to build a new ground.

Which they have from the sale of adamslie to dawn homes.

There has been a lot said on here about this and it just seems to keep rumbling on
However, I think a lot of people on here got heartily fed up with certain posters of a Rob Roy persuasion constantly telling us everything was fine and that they were on top off it any that they would be in their new home very soon
Obviously the rhetoric of these people was a bit presumptuous and ill informed
Did Rob Roy take the gold coin a bit too early ....... yes
Would other clubs have done the same ..... possibly yes
Were there examples of others doing similar and ending up out of existence etc....... yes
Have Rob Roy been s**t on from a great height by their local council/ regional council....... yes
Is it mostly their own fault .... yes

I said a while back that I hope that the situation is resolved in a way that the Boabys are still here in some form as they are part of history in the Junior game and so are their Denis the Menace shirts

You never know..... they sound like ideal candidates for a step up to the “Pyramid” ...... no money, no ground, big ideas ......... ideal candidates

Indeed. I'm obviously not privy to the full workings but from the outside it looked like the money was burning a hole in their pocket and they lost sight of the fact they had a future to consider.

Marvin Andrews ffs.

That doesn't seem all that far fetched now you mention it.

It would definitely be borne of desperation in their case but it's the sort of move teams make when backed into a corner and they might see the extra income as a way to help secure new digs.

Was rumoured they were moving to Petershill before the start of this season, maybe looking at sharing with Rossvale would be better in the short term as its closer to Kirkie and not so far for the fans to travel.
As was proved when Rossvale had to move their Scottish tie with Pollok, Huntershill was deemed incapable of holding a big crowd, and at least some of Rob Roy's league matches would fall into that category. BSC were also looking at Petershill but that was a non starter as they would never get first call on the park.

Any time someone queried what was mentioned further up they were shot down by the multitude of Rabs fans on here. The party line was that the money being spent on players was from the sale of the land that the social club sat on, and the sale of Adamslie would pay towards the new ground. Even when anyone pointed out that they didn't even have a confirmed site for the new ground when they left it was met with "everything is going to be fine." To deny that the 6 figure plus sum that was spunked on Andrews et al would be handy now is once again burying heads in the sand.

Questions that remain unanswered:

Is the money from the sale of Adamslie (the Stadium) in the bank, and how much of it has already been spent.

Is there anything left of the money they received for the sale of the social club site.

How much longer are Cumbernauld (George Watson) prepared to have them at Guys Meadow, bearing in mind that it is also having a serious impact on their ability to get games played.

Is the Rossvale ground an option they would consider, bearing in mind its very limited spectator accommodation, lack of covered area, no easily accessible toilet facility, no catering  facilities. If it was, I would think they would be looking at it already.

Are their any other availabe options in the immediate area. Broadwood? Already got Clyde and Cumbernauld Colts.  Ashfield? It seems not.  Petershill? Now that Rossvale are gone, why not? Duncansfield? They already have approached us , but bearing in mind the damage that would be done to a grass pitch we did not accept their offer, we can live without it.

Like many others, I fear for their future , they were always our biggest rivals, but to see them disappear would be a disaster.
