Scotticus Erroticus
Clearly the most important decision will Scotland will have to make this century, is it: French toast or Eggy Bread I know this discussion can get a little bit heated and tempers may flare, but this is an important decision and we should make it with a clear mind. We owe it to our children and our children's children, and their pets too. Let us keep decide once and for all on this desperately important issue. MONKMAN
I'd attack someone if they used the term eggy bread within earshot. I'm not a violent man, but that deserves a size 8 in the dish.
LinkinFighter
Eggy bread was something I heard in Newcastle, I have no idea if it is more prevalent in England.
Cardinal Richelieu
French Toast is a bit poncy for what it actually is, but Eggy Bread makes you think of farts, so it's French Toast for me (and everyone else it would appear).

LinkinFighter
If you put melted cheese in the middle it's called a Fried Cheese Sandwich.
wingsoverperthshire
Kinda hard to settle something that doesn't need settled. It's French Toast.
Mallo_Madrid
Its not called a fried cheese sandwich. You're still putting the leg work in with the smothering of the bread with the beaten egg. Its a taste sensation, if I'd have described the above using the term French Toast this thread would be a drool fest.
