Just as well they published a photograph, otherwise we wouldn't have known what the weapon of choice looked like.

Alloa cops arrest TV...

Four young people were arrested and charged after a “disturbance” in Alloa’s Pine Grove on Monday morning (5 January) – which allegedly started when they refused to turn down their television -

Officers attended a flat within a five-story building in response to a noise complaint.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Advertiser that the occupants, three of them teenagers, refused to interact with officers and would not leave the property. The spokesperson added that as a result police “had to escalate” their efforts to restore order, but “there was no danger” to the public.

The spokesperson said: “A number of Police Scotland vehicles were present, but it was a controlled situation and everything was always done in a controlled manner. “Four people have been arrested and charged under Section 38 CJLSA 2010 (threatening or abusive behaviour).”

Liam Young (16), Kirsty Taylor (18), Ryan Kenneth Douglas (22) and Carla Ann Gruar (17) will all appear in Alloa Sheriff Court at a later date in connection with the allegations. Officers initially arrived at the scene at around 1.30am. As the situation developed into a siege-type scenario, several police vehicles were deployed. Then one of the accused exited the property voluntarily around 6.30am. Finally, around 9.45am, police entered the flat and arrested the remaining three.

Sources on social media who claim to have witnessed the situation reported seeing over 10 police vehicles at the scene alongside a number of ambulances. Another said they saw police in riot gear and carrying shields, and claimed that a nearby road was blocked in both directions.

The property was later made secure and a council employee boarded the door up. Officers were seen taking a number of electronic items including the flat screen TV which led to the noise complaint. - See more at: http://www.alloaadvertiser.com/news/alloa/articles/2015/01/07/520573-four-to-appear-in-court-following-ninehour-police-operation-in-alloa/#sthash.xtE0ptKU.dpuf

"Two £20 have been found".

Darn, rules out the jackpot of finding one of those Tayside £500 notes. :(

No "innocent till proven guilty" down under then?

"The officers entered the house and took the slippery sinful slimy shifty serpent into custody," police said in a statement.
