Slightly off topic, but I'm having lots of bother getting this loaded up, read on various forums because its dual layered that older ps3's may struggle with it. Anyone else?

I

I've got a Slimline and sometimes it doesn't recognise the disc, I have to remove and reinsert it. Not all the time, though.

Absolutely gutted I can't play The Last Of Us, looks right up my back alley and everyone reckons it's the best game ever made.

It definitely is the best game ever made, in my books anyway.

Just bought this today, running my way through it but cannot for the life of me get past this one bit.

I've got Ellie and Tess, her and myself are making our way through the wrecked city. You leave Ellie and Tess up and drop down to take care of some runners. I just can't get by this. I get one but then I keep getting seen by the runners which triggers the clicker who comes running and bites me.

The runners have perfect eyesight but I can't see a god damn thing in the darkness.

I presume you're using your torch, but what I done was quickly crawled to pick up the pipe, and then backtracked into the room. One of the runners makes their way into that room and you can take him out sneakily, then go back along the corridor and take out the other runner that I presume is the one you're able to take out with ease. That should leave it a bit easier, as you'll have the pipe to dispose of the clicker with.

Alternatively, try and blaze through it (Ammo shouldn't really be a problem) and just keep your eyes on the clicker at all times. Clickers aren't too tough as long as you either keep your distance or have a pipe/bat etc to take care of it. Hope that helps.

It is quite a hard bit, but once you know what their movement is, it shouldn't pose you many problems.

Managed to get by it, took out the first guy like Ludo said then went back for the guy who just stood still.

Got a wee bit further and there's a room full of clickers, no idea where to go either! Went to get dinner shortly after a few deaths. I'll batter through it a bit tomorrow probably.

Is that the underground station bit?

Completed it yesterday. Thought it was fantastic from start to finish, utterly brilliant.

It's not the best game ever, though. I had a couple of minor gripes with it:

1) It's really linear. I don't think anyone was expecting a GTA-style sandbox game, but a bit more exploration would have been better. I'd have loved to explore Tommy's town, for example, and more of the quarantine area at the start of the game.

2) There are far too many checkpoints. I didn't really feel tense, or scared, at any point during the game because there's such little punishment for being killed. A lot of the time if I received a couple of hits I'd just let Joel die as starting again from just a few seconds before was easier than trying to run away and heal.

Yes, I think so.

One thing I've noticed is that Tess and Ellie run around and clearly get seen by soldiers or whatever and nothing happens. It'd be harsh if it punished you but all the same, it's pretty stupid that they're just running around out in the open with no punishment.

Spent a solid 9 hours playing this today - love it!

Think I'm nearly at the end now:

At the university hunting for fireflies!

Very enjoyable game, debateable if the best ever. I'd say no.

Still quite a bit to go!

According to my PS3 I am 97% done:

In the hospital trying to save Ellie from being sacrificed(though wasn't that the whole point? To use her to find a cure?)

when my save won't load up. Left it for ages to load up by the loading % seems to go down rather than up resulting in nothing happening.

Verge. Of. Tears.

Agree with both of these points. While I thought it was tense, while playing you had the knowledge that you wouldn't have to go all the way back to start again. I enjoyed going round the houses and stuff, would have liked more of it.

The other thing that bugged me was that the AI only paid attention to what the 'lead' character was doing. Your allies could be running alongside them and as long as Joel was hidden it was as if they were invisible. Think someone else mentioned it on the previous page.

Still, it's a tremendous accomplishment and right up there with my favourites. A really great game with an excellent story and acting.

Yep, I would agree with that. One of the most enjoyable games I've played in years, with tremendous production values.

I've never played any of Naughty Dog's other games, is the Uncharted series worth checking out?

Uncharted is very good. I'd highly recommend all three games. Different from the last of us but you'll notice the similarities in places.

I actually picked up the second one on the back of The Last Of Us. Only an hour or so in but I reckon I'm gonna enjoy it.

Out of interest which one is regarded as the best of the series?

You've essentially completed it, just a couple of cutscenes to watch.
