You paying my ransom?

:) Nooo. Seriously though, been twice, never felt in any danger either time. Hoping to go back in September.

Coincidentally going to Krakow at Easter...never been before. On that note, anyone recommend any good pubs and/or strip clubs in Krakow?

Been to both and as much as good as Prague is, value for money would be Krakow. Was there last year and we were paying around £9 for a great quality three course meals and little more than £1 a pint in most places.

We stayed just off the main square and the women are absolutely beautiful, totally for shagging!!!

I'd also recomend the day trip to Auschwitz aswell

There used to be a porn website based in Prague that was a brothel where you didn't pay but they filmed all 'encounters' and broadcast the footage on their website.

I'll keep an eye on it for the next few months and if I see a Scottish guy with a 'FFC ON TOUR 13' T shirt on, I'll let everyone know.

Big Sister?? Lol, we heard all about this after the recent 4-6-0 game haha

We also strangely regret not taking up one guys offer off going back to some bar and watching a monkey and a midget!!!!

There used to be a thread on this on the TAMB and no one knows what it was of not that they'd let on lol

Can I ask you drop me either a PM or post on this thread upon return with a report card?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Im not sure a report would be much good as im going on my own. Yeah, yeah, Billy no mates........ Been wanting to visit Auschwitz for ages, and pals heve been humphing and hah-ing over the years, so I finally thought "f**k it, im going". So may be a bit of a quieter affair than if I was with mates.

I'll report back with any tales of kidnaps, mafia, torture, scams, cheapness and hotness of local women though

We got the offer of "shag a midget, 25% off" in Prague. Wasnt sure whether that was the price, or the midget.

I thought the locals in Prague were very friendly

We found that alot off the Chinese newsagents were very friendly, everytime we walked in any off them to buy tram tickets they would bow to us. It might also have been due to the fact they shat themsefes as we were in kilts and maybe a wee bit louder than normal due to the bevvy. I wouldn't have said the locals were any friendlier than most other places we've visited tbh

Although Prague is the only place that someone has thrown lettuces at me

I've been to Krakow twice, and would happily go back again

I would definitely take a full day to go to Auschwitz. As suggested in a previous post, don't take an organised tour - it's easy to get there by public transport. Strangely, the bus is quicker than the train (main bus station is at the back of the main train station)

Another great day trip is the Wieliczka Salt Mine, again, it's easy by public transport.

Haven't been to Prague yet, but am going for a week in July.

Just back from Krakow......excellent. Was going to give you some more feedback but realised that you've not actually said what kind of holiday it is. Is it a lads holiday...girlfriend...etc?. That makes a bit of difference imo.

Was in Krakow in february for a stag. While it was good fun there seemed to be quite alot of agrro around town. The polish women are all really hot, the guys are not. This leads to British guys having a good success rate and leaving no women for the locals. Que plenty of aggro, punch ups etc. They are also becoming less tolerant of stags, especially if you have any english in your group, due to them running a riot in the town at weekends.

Have also been to Prague not on a stag though. It is definetly not as cheap as it used to be, the main square area you are now looking at British prices for your beer etc.

Why not go somewhere less exploited like Brno or Plezen?

The stuff about the fighting is alot of shit. The only trouble I seen in Krakow was pissed brits. Not saying Krakow is the safest place on earth but if you don't act a dick or start fighting with the police you'll live. I agree about the women :D

Just back from Wroclaw and could not recommend Poland highly enough. It's friendly, the people all want to learn English so most understand you and as in most countries if you try a little of the language they're happy to help you learn. Almost all the women are incredibly beautiful and well dressed. We walked all over the city centre away from the Rynek (the main square) and most people were better dressed than folk here.

It's incredibly cheap if you avoid the usual tourist traps, we ate in the student quarter for £6.50 which was two huge plates of home made food and two bottles of juice. We found a back street bar that was 90p a beer and £1.10 a vodka with a decent mixed crowd. We went to a traditional Polish restaurant that had some tourists and locals combined and two courses with a 2 litre jug of beer worked out at about £15 in total. Food was excellent, too. The traditional pierogi are like dumplings fried in batter with various fillings and they're brilliant.

The one thing I found a bit odd was that absolutely everywhere there were pizza shops and sushi bars. On one street there were three sushi bars next to one another. The Rynek had at least six pizza shops. Mental.

I'd imagine Krakow will offer slightly more than Wroclaw in terms of partying for a stag group, but it will most likely be around the same price to eat and drink. Haven't been to Prague but you hear varying stories which all probably depends on how savvy a traveller you are. Anyone getting caught out in rip off strip clubs is a numpty. Bit of common sense and research should help anyone avoid that.

Anyone been to either?

Looking for advice, tips and more importantly experience of either place.

Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Went to Krakow in 2006. Got pished in the pubs in the square, in the centre of town. Went to Auschwitz and that Salt Mine with the carvings. Walked past the footie ground. Got pished again. What's not to love? I probably did other stuff but that's all I can remember.

I recall going to a Castle in the town too.

I'm lucky enough to do quite a bit of travelling with my job and Krakow is one of my favourite cities in the world ,

Absolutely love it, never seem any trouble on the 4 times I've been there, locals are really friendly and good and drink really cheap

Never been to Prague but would also recommend Budapest as its also a great place

However Krakow wins every time

Prague is dying on its arse for stag do’s

I bump into the occasional one here and the main gripe is the price of everything, accommodation can be cheap but all stag do related activities are too expensive, plus people are getting caught out by pickpockets a lot more.

The police are cracking down on the “strip” clubs as well, a couple of the bigger ones have been closed in the last few months

I’ve seen a big shift in it becoming more of a destination for couples, although you can still get beer in some places for under £1 a pint.

Anyone going to Prague should read and take heed
