Swampy
Quite often when I'm out I'll stream C64 music through my phone, just listening to random tracks from the 80s. It's a great way of remaining detached from reality. It's also a reminder that some extremely talented musicians work, and always have worked, in the gaming arena. In my opinion the best era for game music was towards the around the end of the 16-bit and the beginning of the 32-bit era, because the hardware was just advanced enough to meet the musicians' ambitions but not so out-there that games were as immersive and realistic as now, meaning that they needed to retain a very meaningful score. Then again, some of the most memorable tracks were simple in both melody and instrumentation, such as this one from Suikoden II: Your thoughts, memories, and above all tunes are welcome. Jack Burton
The soundtrack to Bioshock is great especially one called empty houses. Recently completed Alan Wake and the soundtrack to that is great as well.

Gaz
An updated, full orchestral, dynamic score is probably my number one reason for wanting FFVII to be remade.

Fuctifano
Surely the point with Vice City is that the songs had already been written by other people?
