TheGoon
Logan Lucky - Saw this the other night. It's a slow-burner and also drags on a bit at the snd but it's an enjoyable enough film, few brilliantly funny scenes in it. Daniel Craig is very good as well.

glasgow_bairn
Terminator 2 - restored and in 4K 3D. Phenomenal seeing this on the big screen, only down side was it wasn't the directors cut. Nicely restored though!

Lichtie78
Just watched Deepwater Horizon. Really enjoyed it, wasn't keen on the idea of oil rigs before, now there's no chance I'm going on one.

And it was written by the same people who are writing for Bond now. They also wrote Skyfall and Casino Royale. Imagine my shock.
GrahamJags
Eagles Of Death Metal: Non Amis - 8/10 (Netflix). Documentary about the the band's horrific experience in the Paris attacks of 2015. Can't stand the band's music, and the singer has made some comments that I don't particularly agree with in the aftermath, but this documentary was excellent. Janis: Little Girl Blue - 7/10 (Netflix)Rock doc on Janis Joplin. Have to say, I wasn't too familiar with her music before watching this but an interesting, if bog standard doc.
The Minertaur
Allied (Sky) - 7/10 Decent film starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard about undercover agents during WW2. Both the leads were excellent and I genuinely couldn't decide if she was a Nazi spy until quite far in. It did end a bit too quickly though!
killiepiemuncher
The Limehouse Golem 8/10Enjoyed this gothic styled thriller with Bill Nighy on top form. Great plot twists keeps you entertained throughput, plus the added bonus of my favourite actor Eddie Marsan. (Cinema)
Shandon Par
Bit of a film binge weekend The Limehouse Golem Decent enough. Thought they could have done more with the sets - it was all a bit stagey/CGI - but otherwise a decent romp. Eddie Marsan very good and Douglas Booth channeling Russell Brand. 7/10 Get Out I think it would be more challenging for an American audience. It's really a dark satire on race relations and how black people have to conform to white ideals if they are to fit in. 7/10 Birdman Very clever how it looks like one continual shot. A bit of a luvvie love-in but overall enjoyed it. 8/10
Gaz FFC
The hitmans bodyguard. The right mixture of action and comedy for me. I found I actually quite enjoy the works of Ryan Reynolds when he's not selling me broadband.
Mark Connolly
Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith (Sky) I've seen it several times before, but you always notice something. This time, it was how Ewan McGregor's attempt to do an Alec Guinness impression means that he shows absolutely no emotion throughout the film. Hayden Christiansen is obviously terrible, but McGregor should have known better. I still like the story though.
DA Baracus
ROTS is terrible and the story is pish. "Aye Anakin, to save your wife, who absolutely no one definitely knows is your wife, you have to murder a load of children. Your wife definitely won't ever find out and even if she did she'd absolutely be fine with you massacring loads of innocent children." "Oh cool Palpatine, I'll get right on it." "Anakin, is it true you killed a load of kids?" "I did it for you!" "Flowers probably would have been better than mutilated children's corpses." "Obi Wan, you turned her against me!" "Nah, pretty sure it was the lightsabering kids' faces off mate." "I'm sorry, but despite our incredibly advanced medicine, techniques and machinery, we don't know why Padme is dying. It's like she's dying of..erm..." "A broken heart?" "YES! That's it!" "Are you fucking kidding me?!!!" "Hey Obi Wan, instead of us taking the fight to the Emperor and stopping him imposing a horrendous dictatorship on the galaxy, I have more training for you. And by 'training' I mean fucking off and watching a child like a creepy uncle. I will just f**k off to a swamp and hide like a shitebag doing pretty much nothing." "That sounds like the best course of action Yoda. Let's get to it." "Aw, I'm all burst after a ludicrous move that allowed Obi Wan to cut my legs off, leaving me lying beside a river of lava on fire. But where's my wife Palpatine?". "Oh..erm..YOU killed her!" "What? NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Ok, yes."
jimmy boo
Williams..........7/10. Not just one for motorsport fans this documentary. Tells the story of the Williams F1 team from the beginning. Also features heavily on the family of team owner Frank Williams and his daughter, now effective team boss Claire Williams and his late wife through recordings made while still alive for her autobiography. Very open and honest interviews with them and other close family and team members from through the years. I always knew Frank Williams was a bit of an oddball but not to such an extent as revealled here.
BFTD
After watching the Star Wars films as a kid, I was idly curious about the idea of a respected good guy being seduced by evil, eventually becoming one of the most feared, ruthless fascists in the galaxy. How could this have happened? Surely an epic tale full of nuance and subtlety lay behind such a complex figure. Turns out he was always a pouty, self-obsessed little bitch, and Obi-Wan was lying about him being a good guy all along
GnR989
Tightrope with Clint Eastwood. It's an alright crime thriller. He seems to get his end away quite a lot in it
