HibeeJibee
I think the story is that the football section ceased in the mid-1950s, but was restarted in the mid-1980s when they absorbed Postal United... Certainly the social club and other sports and non-sporting activities continued unbroken in between indeed the original ECFC social club only closed last year relocating to a new building. They consider themself a continuity anyway and have stronger claims to it than the likes of Clachnacuddin, Airdrie or Rangers among current senior clubs. It's not a situation like Leith Athletic or potentially Third Lanark.

So at the end of the day, is this the same Edinburgh City as the Edinburgh City who we recorded our record victory (13-2) over in 1938???
King Kebab
And isn't there still a St. Bernard's Social Club???

I would say so and certainly that's what the club itself and a number of semi-official organisations or people would say... On the other hand there's no official arbiter of history. 2 hours ago, King Kebab said: And isn't there still a St. Bernard's Social Club??? No idea. There is a St Bernards on the go in the amateur leagues but it's an example like Leith Athletic: after decades of absolute inactivity someone just decided they were restarting St Bernards. As far as I'm aware there has been no attempt to authenticate / legitimise, and I could start a rival St Bernards if I liked. Skyline Drifter
Updated list for QoS: 05/09/90 - Celtic(11/09/01 - East Stirlingshire - No longer a League Team) 07/02/04 - Motherwell 08/01/05 - Montrose 26/07/08 - Berwick Rangers 25/04/09 - Clyde 10/04/10 - Inverness Caledonian Thistle 09/10/10 - Peterhead 29/03/11 - Stirling Albion 14/02/12 - Aberdeen 05/05/12 - Ross County 03/11/12 - Edinburgh City (whilst a non League team) 01/12/12 - Kilmarnock 16/03/13 - Arbroath 30/03/13 - Brechin City 20/04/13 - Forfar Athletic 27/04/13 - East Fife 08/03/14 - Hamilton Academical 25/03/14 - Dundee 02/08/14 - Elgin City 07/02/15 - St Johnstone 21/03/15 - Cowdenbeath 28/03/15 - Heart of Midlothian 25/07/15 - Stranraer 01/08/15 - Annan Athletic 23/04/16 - Livingston 16/07/16 - Queen's Park 19/07/16 - Airdrieonians 23/07/16 - Partick Thistle 03/09/16 - Stenhousemuir 20/09/16 - Rangers 12/11/16 - Alloa Athletic 29/11/16 - Albion Rovers 11/03/17 - Morton 18/03/17 - St Mirren 25/04/17 - Raith Rovers 01/04/17 - Dundee United 08/04/17 - Ayr United 15/04/17 - Hibernian 22/04/17 - Dumbarton 29/04/17 - Falkirk 06/05/17 - Dunfermline Athletic I've left East Stirlingshire in with a strikethrough since they were a league team when we last played them. This coming season sees us gain games with Inverness, Brechin and Livingston. It's only a year since we last played Livi before they were relegated but we've gone 4 years since playing Brechin and 7 since playing ICT so those will jump up the list a fair bit. Hamilton will also jump up from a three year gap after we drew them in the Betfred Cup. We also drew Stenny and Albion Rovers, both of whom we played last season, and East Kilbride who as a non league team won't count on this list. Guest Flash
I'll note quote SD's one but St.Johnstone should come in just before Cowdenbeath and Stranraer just above Annan. Just looks like those 2 where the date is right but not the order.

1320Lichtie
We've not played Dundee United competitively since 1994. Kilmarnock since 1992. Both in the cup. Dumbarton - play regularly Livingston - CC few seasons ago Alloa - play regularly Obviously played all the teams in the bottom 2 leagues on a regular basis. So would like to see us get United (wanted them or Dundee away for as long as I can remember), Killie not been, St Mirren not been, Falkirk and Ross County as haven't been. United ticked off last season in the League Cup.So, Killie this year? Not played each other since the year I was born. [emoji28]
