Fair chance he'll move up a spot within the week too with Houston's departure for Blackpool likely. Butcher nearly went to Barnsley too. McNamara is currently 17th in the list with his stint of 1 year and 9 months at Thistle. In a busy day for manager change, Scotland's longest serving manager by miles, Billy Reid, departed Hamilton Accies after just short of eight years in charge. Alex Neil and Frankie McAvoy are in caretaker charge. Only five managers have been in position for more than three years (and Neil Lennon has only just passed that mark): Gardiner Speirs has just over 5 years under his belt and Dick Campbell at Forfar will join him in the five year club if he manages another five weeks. Ross Jack and Terry Butcher have just over 4 years each. If we take this season as starting at 1st June (usually taken by the league and SFA to be the change date between seasons) then 15 of Scotland's 42 clubs have changed a manager since the start of the season! Slightly more than 35%. 19 clubs have managers who have been in position less than a year (45%). Ally McCoist, who hasn't even reached his second anniversary in charge at Rangers yet, is Scotland's 13th longest serving manager.
