Findlay has been appointed "1st team coach" at Airdrie but presumably its as close to a manager as we are going to get with the statement saying he is in charge of the team on match days. Kilmarnock statement uses the "mutual consent" line for McCulloch with some press reports saying he quit and others saying he was sacked. Edinburgh City definitive in saying Jardine resigned. No announcement of a caretaker at Elgin, Edinburgh or Kilmarnock yet. Jardine had been the SPFL's longest serving manager with nearly 8 years in charge and with almost 3 years Jim Weir was 8th on the list. Jim McInally at Peterhead takes over as longest serving. He will complete 6 years in charge later this week. Brown Ferguson at Stenhousemuir and Allan Johnston at Dunfermline enter the top 10 with Johnston's 2 yrs 5 months good enough for 10th! He was Jim Weir's assistant at Elgin City so I'm presuming he was effectively in caretaker charge from the minute Weir left since clearly he didn't go with him. However, Elgin never confirmed who was in caretaker charge formally and for all I know he did actually leave the club for a period of days. Can any Elgin fan (or anyone else) confirm? For the time being I've presumed his appointment date to be 1st October from when he took over as caretaker. I don't think it's changed much in the 4 or 5 months since I last updated though. Clearly Owen Coyle departed Ross County on 1st March and was replaced by Steven Ferguson & Stuart Kettlewell on a caretaker basis which was made permanent this week. Csaba Laslo, always a left field appointment who has appeared to be a game or two away from the sack for months didn't quite make it to 11 months in charge at Dundee United before a heavy home defeat to Ross County dealt the death blow. Dave Mackay, whose Stirling side have made a very disappointing start to the season, had been in charge for just under 2 years and was Scotland's 15th longest serving manager prior to his departure. Jim McInally is comfortably Scotland's longest serving manager and will celebrate 7 years in the Peterhead job on Sunday. Alan Archibald, Derek McInnes and Tommy Wright have all had more than 5 years at their clubs also. There's another bit of a gap before 6 managers have 3 and bit years each.
