teribus1514
Anyone else think that Queen are possibly the best band ever? The Beatles The Who Stone Roses Oasis Led Zeppelin AC/DC The Kinks Rolling Stones All these are better in my opinion. Still a great band but not my number 1 favourite. -
Smit
Anyone else think that Queen are possibly the best band ever? Not for me SweeperDee, however they are a very talented band, fronted by one of the best frontmen ever. I really like the album Made in heaven, and some of the more ballad led stuff. My favourite track is- days of our life, a song the is haunting a totally timeless. I however don't like some of the stuff with IMO silly lyrics like we will rock you, or radio gaga. What Queen songs/albums do you like?
Andy Dufresne
I love them but also hate them.
IainMorton
The first band I got into when I was 9 years old, sadly at the time it was Xmas 1991 when Bohemian Rhapsody was at number one in the charts, just after Freddie died. Still listen to them today and they are my all time favourite band, even though I like some bands more at the moment! Can't pick a favourite album as I love them all (apart from Flash Gordon and Hot Space *cringe*), but at the moment I am really into Queen II and March of the Black Queen is an amazing song. Really like The Game aswell, may not be everyone's cup of tea but there are some brilliant tunes on that album! Another favourite song is Scandal from The Miracle album, probably Queen's most under-rated song. Amazing live band too as their gig at Milton Keynes in 1982 proved, don't think I have heard a live album better than that. Maybe being biased being a huge fan, but I really think that Freddie Mercury was the best frontman ever and I don't think anyone will come close to being better than him. Plus Brian May is a legend aswell, someone I have always looked up to!

Musketeer Gripweed
Best album, Made In Heaven, most under rated song, Scandal. Is this a fucking wind up thread? If so, well done, you got a bite. Saw them live 4 times and was at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert as well. So yes, you could say I am a fan.

DA Baracus
Anyway, Queen are utterly awesome. They're the band that got me into music when I got their Greatest Hits 1&2 double album years back. I actually had to replace the first disk as I played it so much. More favourites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q8QVsL50xQ Highlander used to be my favourite film (it's still one my favourites) and the soundtrack was a big part of that. On a side note I lost the CD cover/sleeve for Queen II. Still have the (excellent) album though.
Jambos
I would say yes. As a live act, there is no one comes close. Absolutely no one, no matter what Bono might tell you. Live Aid and Wembley are astonishing examples of what a rock concert should look like. Mercury was the king of rock showmanship. Watching Live at Wembley is akin to watching your favourite movie. It draws you in and the time flies. Musically they were masters. A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races are masterpieces. Get netflix on and pull up "classic albums Queen- A Night At The Opera" and look at the way they produced those complex layered songs that no one else was doing at the time. Saw this on facebook the other day. Its a great comparison of how brilliant Mercury was (he wrote it on his own) and how utter utter shit pop has become today.
