Stupid question I know but it states the capacity of Tns ground is 2034 of which 1034 is seated. Could this low number be a potential issue? seems we are bringing a fair number down and the game might whet the appetite of their fans too so just putting it out there

Given we can't get 1700 fans to haul their arses 10 minutes to Palmerston I really can't see that many making a 3 and a half hour trip down the road for a diddy cup game.

As near as I can gather at the moment there are more than 150 booked on buses on either Saturday or Sunday. For a normal away game our attendance is approximately three times whatever travels by bus but I doubt that will be the case here as obviously most away games in Central Scotland see a fair percentage of our support living in the Central Belt to start with. By comparison for instance, the Travel Club had a fairly full 50 seater at Inverness but our total attendance was only 81 so there weren't masses travelling by car on top of that. It's an even bigger ask for a load of people to get in cars and go to Oswestry. Given it's Sunday and on live tv I'm doubtful we'll even double the "bus" support with independent travellers. Still, something circa 300 appears highly possible given the novelty value of the fixture. Gates at the previous two TNS ties at home were 400. No idea how many Livingston fans travelled but can't imagine there were many from Elgin. Would have thought a crowd of circa 600 - 700 is likely with us having just under half.

What buses/mini buses are you aware of that are going SD?

Travel Club have two going Sunday.

Devorgilla have a 16 seater for the Saturday and a 33 seater for the Sunday.

New Bazaar have a minibus Sunday and a group going Saturday.

Apparently Afan Lido Supporters have a bus coming to support us through a link with the Doonhamers Tartan Army.

Shrewsbury Supporters Club are going too though presumably not with a bus.

A 300 strong travelling support is a definite possibility then [emoji108]
What’s the club’s plans? Are they heading down Saturday and staying overnight in Oswestry?

Seen on the OS that there are pop up banners for season fixtures that are dotted round the town, and the match posters that are around the town and surrounding area. Just want to say big well done to those putting in the effort and those involved. I hope those efforts are rewarded with a noticeable increase in home attendances.

A goal each for Dobbie and Lyle today it seems an appropriate time to post an update of the all time top scorers table:

1 - Jim Patterson, 251 goals in 462 appearances, 1949 - 1963
2 - Bobby Black, 120 goals in 346 appearances, 1952 - 1961
3 - Derek Lyle, 116 goals in 263 starts (84 sub) appearancs, 2002 - 2004, 2004 - 2006 & 2012 - Current
4 - Andy Thomson, 114 goal in 196 starts (35 sub) appearances, 1989 - 1994 & 2006 - 2007
5 - Jocky Dempster, 98 goals in 342 starts (13 sub) appearances, 1970 - 1979
6 - Tommy Bryce, 95 goals in 283 starts (14 sub) appearances, 1985 - 1987, 1994 - 1998 & 1999
7 - Stevie Mallan, 94 goals in 233 starts (32 sub) appearances, 1993 - 2000
8 - Stephen Dobbie, 93 goals in 146 starts (17 sub) appearances, 2007 - 2009, 2016 - Current
9 - Tommy McCall, 93 goals in 264 appearances, 1925 - 1934
10 - Ian Reid, 89 goals in 192 starts (5 sub) appearances, 1973 - 1978
11 - Jimmy Robertson, 89 goals in 378 starts (22 sub) appearances, 1979 - 1987 & 1989 - 1993
12 - Jackie Oakes, 81 goals in 457 appearances, 1936 - 1947 & 1951 - 1960
13 - Iain McChesney, 79 goals in 587 starts (28 sub) appearances, 1961 - 1982
14 - Rowan Alexander, 78 goals in 165 starts (18 sub) appearances, 1978 - 1983 & 1995 - 1998
15 - Billy Houliston, 74 goals in 155 apearances, 1945 - 1952
16 - Jackie Law, 71 goals in 226 appearances, 1936 - 1948
17 - John O'Neill, 70 goals in 143 starts (52 sub) appearances, 2001 - 2003 & 2005 - 2008
18 - Lex Law, 68 goals in 316 starts (18 sub) appearances, 1964 - 1975
19 - Jimmy Rutherford, 66 goals in 65 appearances, 1930 - 1934
20 - Willie Dougan, 65 goals in 88 appearances, 1922 - 1925

Lyle continues to creep up towards 2nd spot. He has now made 347 appearances, albeit 84 of them off the bench) so to surpass Bobby Black he'll need to reach 121 goals.

Dobbie is up to 8th having scored his 93 in just over half the games of Tommy McCall. His next two goals will move him up to 7th and then 6th as he's played far less games than Mallan and Bryce too. He'll surely reach 5th before the end of the season and hopefully become the 5th to reach a century of goals for us.

Important win today, keeps us in the mix. A lot of decent performances.

Martin looking more assured in goals being injury free and lighter. Defence looked solid even the much maligned Mercer thought was having a decent game, thought we lost our way slightly when he went off, didn't think Rooney done badly either but we just seemed to get dragged across more when he came on. Midfield I thought Murray seems to be growing in confidence, although should have taken his chance, hopefully he can add goals to his game, that's 3 cracking chances he's had since getting into the side and not taking. McFadden adds something to us as well very clever, only complaint is not beating first man with his set pieces. Jacobs and rankin done what they do best and broke up play all day long, knock them all you want but they very rarely let us down, Jacobs Man of the match for me today. Upfront Dobbie frustrated me to be perfectly honest, seems to want to beat one man too many all the time at the moment, but he scored and assisted so can't have to many complaints. Lyndon is coming onto a right game now, doing all the right things, took goal superbly, harassed there defenders at every opportunity, used his height, if Murray had scored from that bit of skill and the pass from Dykes it'd have been a superb assist... great performance for me.

Great win, but only makes next games even more important.

Derek only needs another 136 goals to become all-time top scorer!

The most worrying thing about the goalscorer lists is that Dobbie somehow started on the bench at least 17 times. Frightening.

2 of them were on his return when he wasnt fit enough to start at Dundee Utd and at Hibs. 15 in his first spell, including infamously both legs of the UEFA Cup ties. Dont think many ever forgave Chisholm for that.

Yes, I struggled to spot the guy who started in his place in the European games, on your list.

Keano's slugging it out for number one on the 'Aye he's shite but he works hard list' with Graham Weir.

Probably because it is completely and utterly unforgivable.

Remind me how the respective careers of Dobbie, Kean and Chisholm panned out since then?

Chisholm has been earning a pretty penny at Sunderland as their Head of Youth development since 2012. He's toured places like South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Belgium, United States, Malta and Spain.

He's an arsehole, but he's certainly got a luxurious job. He described it in a recent article as, 'They gave me a blank sheet of paper, and told me the job is what I want it to be. I can do what I want and go where I want.'

Probably explains why nothing is coming through at Sunderland I suppose.
