We never had one last season either. Just the Xmas Eve fixture.

Had a quick look and it looks like we've not had a boxing day fixture since the 2012/13 season when we won the league.

Have heard that Queens have not enough money to sign More quality players, so they will have to be on loan, don't know how true, but have heard they are are after Thomas and Thomson again on loan.

Don't think that's quite what the manager said on Tuesday night at the supporters meeting.

If we got rid of the players that we did at end of season for players that have came in and we've used most our budget, then Christ we're in bother!!

Like supersouth it's not what Naysmith was saying the other night. Fingers crossed he's just waiting for right players becoming available. Proper boring pre season though

We had a fixture then just two seasons ago.

However, our board and Morton's saw fit to stage the actual match many weeks earlier.

Indeed we played Morton on 10th October.

Having no match on Boxing Day meant we went from 11th December to 23rd January without a home match.

Dreadful decision.

Some of our fans got into the festive spirit in the October match.

Really looking forward to Del's testimonial tomorrow with some very popular 'old boys' on show.

What a squad that would have been in their prime - solid as a rock at the back and lethal upfront.

What chance Dowie or Higgins 'accidentally' colliding with Naysmith when he is on the pitch just to prove to him how useless they really are !?

Haven't felt so not up for the season starting in a long time . If Naysmith pulls 3 or 4 quality signings out the hat then that could quickly change .But I am not optomistic .We have a few players in the squad who are coming back from long term injuries ,with a small squad and a new
defence it is not ideal .

Looking at other teams we seem to be far behind all the teams chasing promotion playoffs and closer to Dumbarton Livingston in fighting for relegation playoff

Have we improved since last year?Is Fordyce,Martin and Rooney an improvement from Dowie Robinson and Higgins? Is Stirling better than Hilson?

Things could change but looking at team the now we have no chance of playoffs in the right end because Falkirk,St mirren,Dunfermline,Morton,Inverness,Dundee United all have much better squads than us as it stands

Inverness barely have a squad! Given the size of clubs, we're no real right to compete with Utd or Falkirk on paper. Cant say Dunfermlines squad looks all that impressive. Guys like McManus and Splaine arent really an improvement on what they had last season. Similarly, St Mirren have made some decent signings but Mallens are big shoes to fill and if they cant bring in someone to score goals Im not convinced they'll be as strong as many are suggesting.

In terms of our signings, Martin is clearly an upgrade on Robinson. It seems a lot of fans have forgotten he was one of the best keepers in the league last season. Fordyce is probably on a par with Dowie or Higgins but is coming to the peak of his career rather than the end. Again a lot of people seem to have forgotten how bad we looked defensively at times last season. Stirling looked really good against us for Dumbarton. As far as wingers at this level go I havent seen anyone signing anyone else I'd have ahead of him that we could realistically have targeted, with the exception of Cammy Smith maybe.

The two or three signings still to come are pretty key and could decide which way our season goes but I dont see how you can say other squads are "much better" at this stage

Have to say, in my opinion, the new season training tops look a lot better than the actual team kit.

You know your not allowed to say that?

http://www.qosfc.com/news-3622 Pretty grim reading as far as I'm concerned. Budget constraints is a big theme of this article. Will cherish the day we show ambition. Surely with Dobbie in the side this will be our best chance ever to build a good squad! Hes a unique player who we should make the most of and give him the quality around him he deserves.
