Out of contact in summer, us having a look at him for then?

It would be a low risk move, get him in on essentially a trial, possibly even without paying much in wages and see how he looks at that level.   He's clearly got no future at Celtic so might as well train with QOS to see if he can land a deal for next season.

If he doesn't play 2 up front then he should drop Dobbie. No idea who the lone striker should be.

Lyle gives you more in terms of holding the ball up and bringing others in to play, and is possibly a more clinical finisher. Dobbie creates a lot more though.

Hilson would give you the option to exploit any space in behind with his pace.

ETA: Dobbie has 12 goals from 80 shots in the league, Lyle has 9 from 33. Lyle's minutes per goal is also better by 42 minutes.

Might mean Thomson out wide for the rest of the season, which isn't really the best use of his talents but I suppose it's slightly better than attempting to give Dykes a concussion from every goal kick. Being a regular on the godawful Alloa relegation squad last season isn't a promising sign but if he's terrible then we shouldn't be lumbered with him for particularly long.

Welcome to Connor but I hope Naysmith's not contemplating dropping Jacob's to accommodate him along side Rankin.

My thoughts exactly. If he thinks Jacobs is a player needing replaced then I'm moving further towards the 'Concerned' area.

Also had to giggle at his quote on the official site when describing McManus: "...likes to get the ball down and pass." Couldn't help but wonder why Naysmith has went in for such a player given his current tactics!

Yes, no skill set could could appear more redundant in terms of how we play these days.

Maybe this means that our current launching is more a question of just happening, rather than of design.  The fielding of Dykes would point to the latter though.

The table looks dire. Still to play Hibs, Falkirk and D Utd. Feel we need another 6 pts but not sure where the next pts are coming from. Slowly sinking in that we may well be playing in div 1 next year. Not sure how we've got in this mess with some of the players we've got.
