That's what I took from it as well, still felt a bit cheap though, out of character for him to be sloppy.

But he was bored with all the shit in Winterfell. You could tell from his wee smirk he has had since the Knights of the Vale saved the day at the BotB. He thought he controlled everything because of what he had done. That's why he was possibly sloppy.

So Ned Stark knew at that point that Robert's rebellion was a lie and did nothing. So much for honourable Ned.

Aeres was completely out of control and had burned Neds father and brother alive on a whim.

That was the spark for the rebellion, they had gone to the king to plea for Neds sister.

By the time Ned found out about Leanna, the rebellion was over and Ned lived his life with his wife's scorn, the world mocking him as unfaithful in spite of his stiff neck and he kept quiet to protect Leanna's boy. He helped send him to the Wall where his vows could keep him safe. Every time his wife kicked off and brought up his b*****d boy in an argument, Ned took the bruise to keep the boy safe.

It was not the honour of proud houses and great men. It was the love of a brother to his sister.

Ding dong the c*** is dead!!!

The look on his stupid, accent changing beardy face when his name was called was a joy to behold.

Anyway...Do they really need to tell Jon about who he actually is??

Seems to be doing perfectly fine on his own and informing him that he isn't a Stark, is the actual heir to the Iron Throne and that he just committed the worst kind of family faux pas is surely just going to f*** him right up mentally when they really need him to have a clear head when dealing with the army of the dead.

I took it as Littlefinger underestimating Sansa and thinking he could get away with more than he could.

I think this is the way it will play in the book. In the tv series its a bit too fast, but Sansa has been 5 series of being naive but less so every time. Littlefinger does not grasp the speed she is growing.

Well, technically it's not the worst faux pas...

In terms of political nous Sansa has been the Westerosi version of Theresa May and now we're supposed to believe that she schools Littlefinger at his own game, by virtue of her Stark child plot armour. Predictably lame scriptwriting. Sad!
Let's hope Martin lays off the double cheeseburgers long enough to provide the book series of events as well.

Exactly, one of the best players in the game taken out by the Stark brats. Disappointing. What a pointless storyline this season.

Thought it was a disappointing episode again. Just not understanding the hype. It's deteriorated at an alarming rate imo, the action scenes have been brilliant but the 'politics' episodes have been awful compared to previous seasons. Bit too predictable/ too much fan service?

Was a bit nervous when the Hound was trash talking his brother but seeing them face to face, I'm a bit more confident he can take The Mountain.

Where the f'ck is Ghost btw? [emoji849].

Jaime is a top strategist, he'd bring experience and the ability to command which are just as important as numbers especially at this late stage.

The one thing the living army needs more than anything, Jon is a top fighter but he is useless at strategy, Grey worm will have some skill, but he wont be on Jaime's level.

Winterfell is a fair distance from the wall by foot, Creepy Bran will advise them all the wall has fallen. I see a large part of the first episode being the survivors of the nights watch, Winterfell and other north survivors falling back to meet with the Army of the Living. Jaime will meet them at whatever becomes the rallying point.

So how do we see next week panning out ?

Predictions:

Cersei eventually agrees to help by sending a token force North. Confides to Jaimie she'll wait till Dany's army has suffered heavy losses before turning on her. Jaimie tells her he's going North to fight.

Arya dons a face and finds out what Baelish is up to, Sansa sets up the honey trap and Littlefinger gets merked.

Hound meets Mountain but no Cleganebowl.

Final scene: undead dragon melting the wall.

<<<< Three eyed raven.

Is Tyrion perhaps doubting his faith in Dany now?Or was he just perving outside her room when her and her nephew were shagging?

He looked quite guilty after his talk with Cersei as well. Finding out she's pregnant and the discussion about succession in the last episode makes me think he's had to make some sort of deal with Cersei, he possibly mentioned the fact that Daenerys can't (as far as they know) have kids and she wants Tyrion to ensure that it stays that way. Could be why he looked so worried when Jon and Daenerys were going at it on the ship. One of the prophecies as well is that Daenerys will suffer 3 betrayals, with the final one still to come. Can't remember if that's only in the books though.

I would have thought that, being as the Night King is meant to be this great cunning strategist, waiting for the right moment to strike, etc.... then perhaps once he had his Dragon he might go and destroy loads of bits of the wall. This would mean that no-one would know where the army was coming through. It would also mean that he could destroy Castle Black and so on.

But no, he destroys the furthest away bit of the wall thus meaning it will take a while for his army to get to the important places, with those on the Southern side having plenty of opportunity to set up defenses.

Well, that was absolutely fucking awesome.

Many nail biting moments. Thought somebody was going to die in Kings Landing. The moment where they turned on Littlefinger was superb. Jon/Dany sex scene was very enjoyable. Had a wee chubby watching that. Brans vision of Rhaegar was a cool scene.

Turned out the ice dragon doesn't breath frost but breaths some kind of wicked flame shit. They are going to have a real challenge on their hands to stop that.

I think Jaime will be okay on his return to Winterfell. I think Bran will either choose not to make it public or it will go public and Bran will forgive him because it has made Bran the person he is now/Jaime isn't a dreadful person anymore - something which Bran will have seen in his visions.

Cersei is going to run herself into the ground IMO.
