The Falkirk FC Thread

Recommended Posts

Falkirk FC is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Tom Owen-Evans from Newport County AFC for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The attacking midfielder is a product of the Bristol City Academy having come through the ranks at his hometown club, before signing with Newport at the age of 16.

Tom has gone on to play over 60 times for the League Two side and joins on a one year deal following the completion of the necessary paperwork at The Falkirk Stadium this morning.

Manager, Paul Hartley, commented: “I am really pleased to be able to secure a deal with Newport County AFC for the transfer of Tom.

“He is a player who was identified by our Head of Recruitment, Richard Mitchell as a target and someone we have worked hard on to bring to the Falkirk Stadium.

“Tom is a young, energetic midfielder who will give us great creativity in attacking areas.

“This is the first announcement in what will be a very busy 24 hours at the club as we continue to recruit ahead of the start of pre-season training on Wednesday.”

Further news to follow this evening/tomorrow morning.

The lad has huge potential, not given a chance by us. Works hard, has good feet, get his confidence up and he’ll score goals. I hope you get the best out of him! Been a good lad at our club and deserves a break!

Seems well regarded by the County fans though.

Couldn't get a game for them last season, must've been scouted in his games for Truro?

Be interesting to see how Falkirk do next year.

Yasss a signing! Mon’ the big Toe!

Obviously the boy could turn out to be shite but I’m so happy we’re taking the chances on these boys than panic signing pish like Willo Flood that we would have done the last few years.

Loving the fact that the Don is refusing to sign ugly players.

wonder if this guy is to replace sibbs?  Maybe why the don wasn't so bothered when he left...

I think here’s still a replacement to come. Hartley was saying that he’s was looking at other left sided attacking midfielders to replace him and with the Toe being right footed I think that means we’re still to bring in his replacement.
